Sad. I bet it stays in Steven Spielberg's family for the next hundred years.

Damn that ether just burned my soul. Some things are just not worth to sell. Unless they were on their last dollar. His son seems to just be lazy and wants live off his last name. I remember reading some report on how he wanted to sell his father's bible smmfh

Nobody owns those speaches they are everyones to share.

Just like white people. Always wanna own or take shit that yall didn't have a hand in creating or starting.

It especially doesn't help that a lot of us be so eager to give our shit up for money, especially priceless things like this.

Steven Spielberg/DreamWorks Studios Acquires Life Rights To MLK's Life Story

One of my many questions is how can a human being "own the rights" of another human being's words? I mean I understand owning a piece of paper with words on it, but their intangible words though?!

Another issue is that the "owners" of these words didn't experience any of them.

ANYTIME we hear an MLK speech, DreamWorks gets chipped off.

Somethin aint right. Speak on it...

His speeches must not belong to any private erson or group. His speeches belong to GLOBAL CULTURE.

If thats true then i call for slavery symbolism.

This was posted on reddit & someone said, they were writting a book on civil-rights or something (i dont exactly rememeber) but, they wanted to include a few lines of his speech. When he contacted them about including it, it would of cost him 10k, so he just left it out.

MLK was boule society

I know people detest hearing this but king set black people back pushing that integration bullshit...Now we have been integrated and still lost our cultural identities, economic power and soul..how many youth identify with their Nubian roots?

King was a amazing soulful speaker but he was a agent that worked with the same white devils killing us..He was a chess piece in the grand deception game..he was also programmed by the devil's Christianity which is a mind spell within itself

Kendrick Lamar was wrong..melaninated beings were always used by illuminati groups because they(whites) overstand the magical power of melanin and its power for great manifestion and influence, waaay better than most black people ..smh..They will use black people to move mountains and then discard them..

Its fucking sad that the white man recognizes who the god seeds are on this planet before the god seed even overstands it..

Now these devils own the soul energy of mlk for monetary purposes..Once again the devil checkmated black people in the scope of the matrix...for now...

They know their time is up so they are going to do everything in their power to maintain their grip on the planet..it wont tho because nature is going to clean house real soon

Niggas on here just aint ready for this type of information, its funny too that spielberg got the rights, he is the total definition of a gatekeeper and one of the trendsetters for the masses in western society. You niggas is fucking with master magicians.

If somebody breaks into your house and take something valuable it's their fault.

If you sit all your valuables out on your front lawn and sell something that should be priceless...you can't get mad at the person who was smart enough to buy it. Blame yourself for being dumb enough to sell it.

This one dont fall on the CACs (for once).

Shut Up Kat

Y'all still believe that when it comes to "We are the world We are the children" that Black Americans are included too?

Niggers are a commodity. Accept that or change it. Fuck you mean

Does is really matter who "owns " it if the message stays the same?

Mf's can try to place a numeric value on the speech but the message is priceless.

The fact the "speech" itself can be bought and sold tells me his dream was just that...a mfkn dream.

Yes it matters.

How can someone else authentically tell your story? And if someone else is telling it, you would have to ask yourself why...

One of the main reasons we lost our culture and history in the first place was because we allowed someone else to take the pen out of our hand and start writing. The message never stayed the same.

Not surprised. On the brightside Spielberg is going to do a biopic on MLK that's prolly gonna be dope. He's looking for Oscars these days.

This always goes to show you how oblivious people are to business. MLK's death was untimely and at the time prolly wasn't organized very well in a will the way it should have been. To add on top of that you have a family fighting amongst themselves for the scraps and museums all over America with whatever they got who were prolly easy to bargain with b/c they didn't see the bigger picture and value of it.

I'll say it now and again and again until people start doing it but ownership is very important. Even all yall up and coming rappers, I keep telling these kids go and copyright your music and videos b/c these sites like Instagram are gettin smart to where what you post is now "their property" unless it's been copyrighted before hand. In the longrun, content is going to be VERY valuable and the last thing yall want is to have some other rapper get rich off your beat or verse and make a name for themselves and get all the money and fame for your work. These youtube channels, Tidal, Netflix, etc. they're going to be the "cable businesses" of the internet and will make money off your shit if you don't protect what you got. See it all the time but still niggas don't understand. They too busy, yeah you too busy until you see the big picture or until your family is sitting there fighting over your assets. Same thing happened with Pac's mother. An old Jewish woman owns the rights to Pac's music. Let that marinate....

@Sion

Yep better trademarked your name and your nickname

What do you (@ everybody) suggest we do to control our image and accurately tell our story? Our image/story has been in the hands of others since we've been here.

When someone else writes our narrative:

When we are in control of our image it looks a little more like this:

How do we completely and collectively take control of our image?

I would have thought it would have been public domain. As he is such a huge figure in U.S. Culture and history.
