Sad. Travelling, IMHO, is essential. Unfortunately not everyone has the means or wishes to broaden their horizons.

traveling is different than actually living somewhere. i've always lived in the same state but i've been to several states and out the country many times

I've lived in a few different countries. I don't like "tourist" travelling myself.

You're not experiencing the actual country and people when you stay at let's say a resort. I'd rather venture out and explore. I prefer to experience the culture and live like a local. That's when you can truly say you have been to a place.

I also stayed in Dallas for like 7 weeks earlier this year. But I was in a hotel for a course. If you qualify time, then you might as well say I lived in Dallas. If you qualify where you were, then it was probably just a visit. I was there for a course, so I never really ventured further than a few miles from the hotel I was at.
