man all these characters are the same. Gemma, Jax, Uncer, the feds, Clay.... its all about self preservation. the club is just a means to their own end. it hasn't really ever seemed anyone truly cared about the club, unless it served some sort of purpose for themselves. almost all their deals and relationships are based on lies. I really thought for the longest that Jax and Opie were going to be bff's and it kinda breaks my heart that they may not get through this together. but something tells me they will. Opie always has that moment where he's just randomly like, "I love you brother" and all is forgiven.

i dunno i think jax genuinely cared about the club and put it first until he got his own family..

same with opie..

Thats usually how it goes in gangs/mobs/1%ers etc. In the end the top ranks have the most to lose so it becomes all about self preservation and their own. Its usually the bosses/higher ups that flip.
