But u don't LISTEN to music when ur in a car unless its a long trip. You hear it because ur busy driving, on the phone or actually talking to the person thats with u. That's why it really doesn't take much to pass the "Whip test" as long as the beat is good

The South make that Trunk Muzik!

Aye the west got some good trunk classics. The east coast and midwest even got a few. Got a lotta songs/albums to get now that i think about it past and present.

Music is suppose to be played on a Record player actually (vinyl).

Depends on how the music was recorded. Albums recorded using analog technology (tape) are what have a different sound quality when on vinyl. Albums that are recorded digitally and then placed on vinyl are just the same as CDs. Although I will admit I like the whole presentation of vinyl the best, from the actual vinyl to the big ass covers.

CD is the closes of keeping the sound near perfect.
Actually you can. You won't get it from a place like itunes or amazon though. mp3 compresses the songs to make the file smaller (smaller files means you can get more on your computer, ipod, etc.) but if you download an album from a torrent or whatever else that was ripped from a CD and not compressed you can get the same quality. I know some artists that sell their music on sites like bandcamp let people download their stuff in FLAC which isn't compressed and is more or less the same as the original song file.

and just a heads up to guys like H-Rap, recording a whip test on camera won't give you the true sound unless you were to record the audio using professional mics.

Mercy fails the headphone test...passes the whip test with straight A...fuck with the song minus the beat change...

Music is suppose to be played on a Record player actually (vinyl). Certain Artist make certain music for their environment. I.e. Joey Bada$$ 1999 doesn't need a whip test because that's not his element now Ross, Gucci and Big Krit makes riding music.

Tbh the reason why I love Return of Forever is because I had my car that summer and pulling up blast "I'm just rotating my tires" was memorable.

But all music isn't suppose to be played in whips or clubs or headphones or when u about to have sex. That's the beauty of music it sets a mood and it can fill any mood or setting.

co-siggy ;)

Everyone has their own way of taking in music, and every song has it's purpose. If you don't listen to music objectively, listening to it in a car won't help.

I listened to The Warm Up, What The Fuck Is A Jay Electronica, Return Of 4eva, Section.80, and Teflon Don all the same way (skull candy headphones) and each made me a 'fan' of those artists for the first time.

@IceCold

Bruh you played the music but didn't grade it. The whole idea of testing music on the car is to give a grade on how it sounds.

You should drop a 2-3 line short-paragraph on which one of the albums/songs thump in the ride..I gave Meek a 8.5 in the ride.

And to the one guy professional mic? Seriously?

Mystical ft. Outkast "Neck Uv Da Woods"

10/10 If you got the right equipment. The 808's and Snares hit perfectly even with a fast tempo, then the break down when 3000 comes in is mad dope with woofers. I dont have any tweeters so the Snares arent perfect in my whip but with the right shit this top notch with a system. Prolly my fav song to play in the whip. Produced by Earthtone III
