Some damn ideas to stop these spambots people come on!!!

All they have to do is add the 200 posts before making a thread rule. Those unreadable posts that show up in threads every now and again are meaningless anyway. The real problem is the fact that Greg isn't taking the time to set things straight once and for all. It's like he doesnt care, is just hoping the problem goes away, or is just figuring we'll just do it and that's "what we're here for"

I'm with everyone on this, the post count was at 150 when I joined to make a thread… that made it competitive and made it harder for the spam bots etc. The problem that we have now is that we have a lot of stupid posters, period.

I think this would work. Or instead of 200 make it 150 or 100. Only bad thing tho is that the bots might just flood threads instead.....

This is getting beyond a joke now, I've cleared around 8 pages worth of spam threads in The Reason.

We need more tools, I don't live for the site, why do I have to wait around for hours so that the spammers are eventually eradicated?

I've been on the site since 2003, there must be a few mods you can trust to ban them straight away????

We are working on getting the post count imposed. Unfortunately Jay and I also do not have the tools to just do these things at the drop of a dime. Trust that all of your concerns and ideas are being relayed. Its just taking awhile because the whole site in undergoing some changes and transitions. Thanks ya'll.

Do everything you can to ensure we don't have a huge site down month or five though please!!

I can imagine it's just as frustrating for you. I just think the I.C. needs to keep up with the times. Loads of other boards aren't having this problem.
