I can hear Nelly Furtado doing the Dirty Projector's version. Solange's is nice too though, the Erykah Badu track works well with it.

i always loved solange...as crazy as this may sound, i always thought she was better MUSICALLY than beyonce..talent wise, yea bey got her with the dancing, concerts, fame, most famous rapper ever as a husband and may loook better lol....But musically, solange got that...she's a real artist...

and its sad as hell to me that she may be one of those artists that will slip thru the cracks...she will never get out of her sisters big ass shadow...i mean come on, how can u ever make a real name for urself when ur sister is the female version of Michael Jackson.

I don't think Solange will ever get out of her big sister's shadow either but fuck it, musically she's far superior and I think her carving her own lane on the more indie side of the music scene will end up benefiting her in the long run. Solange might not have the global hit singles but overall she still makes the better music out the two. I know for a fact I'd much rather sit through Solange's last album then any of Beyonce's anyway

That Solange cover is dope. And I completely agree that Solange is more musically inclined. She is a true artist. I know her next album is going to be a bit crazy...I remember reading some where that she wanted it to be a lot like This Bird on her last album. But if she continues to work with people like Bilal, I know it will be worth listening to.

The original version of 'This Bird' is by a Scottish group called Boards Of Canada and to this very day I still don't know how the hell she managed to get permission off them to cover 'Slow This Bird Down'. They're proper reclusive and you never hear about them working with other people (apparently they turned down Madonna point blank) or letting other people sample them, but at the same time they just make proper stunning music. Glad to see she'd want to go down that route

okay I wont say she's prince lol. But I've been trying to tell people ...content wise solange shits on beyonce.
I think people already have it made up in their heads that solange is the corny little sister and will never be more so they aren't even open to listening to her..I had to almost force a co-worker to listen to it her last album..of course she didnt make it past the second song but fuck her she's a bird and actually liked video phone.

Most of that can be blamed on her first album but ..she was only like 14, she was just doing what the label told her to do. I hope she finds her corner in the industry

Finally somebody other than my girl that agrees with me on this.

I enjoyed Solange's last album more than I did her sister's. Solange seems like the smoke filled night club type artist that you can FEEL. Sadly, she'll never stop being "Beyonce's sister"
