201 K 1st week in 2014 is far from a flop.
Her 1st album did 375 the 1st week,2nd did 253K
200 records are solid numbers still.
So with every album she sells less records...for a new artist with all her hype and the machine behind her that's a flop....let Jay z sell 200k first week and niggas think he lost his touch...
Come on now... Jay-z's Hard Knock Life Vol. 2 has sold double, triple, quadruple, and five times more than some of his other albums, but it would be crazy for anybody to use that to take away from the sales that his other albums had, so it's crazy to say that Nicki is falling off just because all her albums don't sell the same numbers. If Nicki consistently drops albums that produce platinum singles and gold and platinum plaques every year or two, and she stays in for 20 years or more the way that many rappers seem to be doing now, she will end up with a good career. James Brown used this exact strategy to build an iconic career, so there's no reason for it not to work for Nicki.
Some Motown artists had albums that sold millions more than James Brown, and when Prince and Michael Jackson came around, James Brown's album release sales in the years they dropped albums weren't even in the same league as their sales, but James Brown just kept dropping albums that went gold and platinum, so nobody ever forgot about him. Nicki is currently the only female rapper putting out gold and platinum albums, so if this trend continues, it's safe to say that some people in the future will call Nicki an icon, a pioneer, and a legend; and many music shows will honor her. Nicki will win by default.
