I'm not gonna go look but it's common knowledge that rains, acid, magnetism, etc... can skew the results of radioactive decay.

Carbon dating is measured by the amount of carbon 14 present in the object. If you have Moss on the object, Rains that contains other elements, someone tried cleaning it with something, and other things it will mess the results up.
