Did you check an alternate file extension? My word automatically saves to .wps
Even if I save as an .rtf file, it will still ask if I want to save changes to .wps before I exit. Try searching all docs instead of just one file type.

Last Semester my ASB Class got smart after everyone failed the first test and turned the 16 page study guide (Yes, bitch ass professor made long ass study guides SMH) into a google doc. So everyone worked on it together!!! Anywhoo the chick who put the whole thing together emailed everyone and said she wanted to put the a small group together to take the test together (Online test FTW) Lol well I emailed her back saying im down, Chick Emailed me back saying some shit like " sorry your too late were alreayd filled up!"
So night before the Exam I Save the Google Doc. to my computer and anonymously erase the whole Study guide!
