Max wouldn't have made this thread if it wasn't about black ppl, here it's kids, doing something wrong.

To the point, yes this is fucked up but that's the world they live in. If their circumstances were different they'd more than likely carry themselves accordingly.

everybody says he was bangin on them, but if you watched/ listened to the whole thing he was moreso fucking with them and hyping the shit up for the camera....

not saying its ok at all but there was no real problem....if im not mistaken they rep the same shit....he was "keeping his lil g's on ready"

I hate it but I aint crying about it...this culture is not new.....but its not black, or poor, or this city or that city

its gang culture period....if they stay alive, those lil dudes will be kings in they hood by 16-17

until that part of it is taken away, you can never make an argument to stop this shit that a kid their age is going to understand

barely old enough to fuck, and aint shaved a lick.....they out here trying to get a block named after them

school dont do that for nobody

to the kids, there's zero appeal in "normal life" and I get it

I never dreamed about this shit growing up......I wanted jewels and bitches and respect in the streets too

anybody have a clue about how to break that?

And THAT is the most important question of all this shit...

My opinion is it has to start in home... But when parents are more worried about raising "cool" or "tough" kids, then it opens up the door for so many other things to creep in. Granted... Nobody WANTS their kids to be "pussy" or "square"...but when the fact that there's an entire "middle ground" that exists is never taught or instilled then people, especially children, only see the extremes of the spectrum.

And I get it, you gotta teach your kids "how to survive"...so in essence, it would take a mass amount of familes in the hood to be on the same shit so those "survival tactics" are less necessary or null all together... OR you just move out the hood.....which has led to a shit-ton of problems and issues in itself...

true...I think it starts in the home but it also has a lot to do with the community and what they ingest on the playground, on TV, on them phones w/ social media and what not

I have no idea how, but we need to show a different type of "success".....most of the shit young boys do is either for attention or some other "gain".....and its hard not to focus on these small, meaningless "gains" when anything else seems out of reach and doesnt even appear to pay off well...these kids dont know ONE man that went to school that has luxury cars and women and is the talk of the streets....they're just not sold on going thru years and years of being broke and walked on and victimized all to settle in a boring house on the hill w/ one woman and a Chevy equinox - wide generalization but you see where im going lol

(of course there are good guys that made it but they are nowhere near these communites)

problem - there's no way in hell we can stop girls/women from being geeked about clothes and shoes and jewelry, so bam they'll always want that shit....not to put the blame on women but if they liked nice guys, in dull regular clothes, with average assets, there would be a whole lot more young men comfortable with being that guy

but they watch women fight in the street over Lil Bert w/ da Skurrt off L block lol

I gotta stop cuz the real sad shit is, I can go all day about the problems and why, but Im sitting here trying to come up with half of ONE solution and I just cant see it.....you cant undo 40 years of gang culture....you cant change whats "cool" overnight....you cant possibly keep them off TV and Internet their whole lives....shit would take a mass movement of whole communities to go OK, we're doing this, and if you gone be on that shit you cant be here...or vice versa and just up and move to new communities and leave those people and ways behind...but that mass movement has to stay together and keep that shit locked down for another 40 years to get it going on a generational level

@HafBayked Very enthralling and absorbing post. It's always gonna be a % of the lost fam. Has 2 be. Addressing ya question on how can we fix it? Starts in the home man as we all know but if that home is broken or worse they don't have one, kids better off not even born sometimes man. Don't even start out with a chance and no guidance on the route to adult hood. The Cycle will wash, rinse and repeat. I care just like the emotion in ya post resonated with me but after a while man u see how far u gotta go 2 help and if it's not a passion u gotta let them do them and move on with ya life. We all grew up with someone on the block who was destined 4 nothing.

Fingerpointing is counterproductive. Just because others do it doesn't make it right. Should we be followers? Forward progression means stepping into unchartered waters, not going down the same beaten path.

@babelipsss ...U said it! It's basically gonna take a catastrophic incident or something close tho 2 reboot they mental tho. @HafBayked laid it out. That gang culture/ mentality is almost, "almost" impossible to infiltrate or overcome. Like NAS Project window: So many ways out the hood but no sign says out. Time will only tell fam but it's a disease in the hood. Malcolm X said: You know what the worst thing about a disease is? Not necessarily the disease it's self, you can sometimes live with it. It's that it SPREADS! Coming 2 a suburb near u Northside of the City! That's when it's on! Chi will be the 1st Martial Law State / City.
