Who would leave their dog like that?

Thats fucked up cause a scared dog will bite quick as shit.

I would actually make sure my dogs were safe before I'd help my neighbors.

Some might see that as fucked up but I love my dogs and they part of my family.

Damn I want to know if they rescued that dog now.

my dog can fit in a bag so ill just put him in a bag and bounce

I'm sure they did. No way they made it all the way to the dog just to leave without saving him.

While it is fucked up dude just sent out a tweet instead of an actual statement a friend of mine who is a pastor at a church in Baltimore just posted this and it is something to consider as to why some didn't open their doors sooner

I watched a documentary about hurrican katrina a week ago and those reports on rape, murder, suicide were all false as for "property destruction" the super dome itself was falling apart due to the severity of the storm.

I think joel is copping pleas

But to the dumb bitch that was saying he charges 50 at the door n doin yearly income salary calculation needa stfu sit down n be humble

Post hurricane Katrina, churches and other organizations learned to not just open their doors until they are designated as shelters. Once designated, they get resources to SUCCESSFULLY HELP PEOPLE. Resources like food, water, and security are vital for basic operations, but volunteers are needed to work the kitchens, bathrooms, and infirmiries. These elements are vital to ensure that the shelter does not become a dangerous place. When it opens before those arrive, it can do more harm than good. Just read up on what happened 2 days after hurricane Katrina when they opened up the Superdome before they had State and Federal resources. There were cases of rape, murder, suicide, theft, robbery, and destruction of property to name a few. Even though Katrina left New Orleans with no options, valuable lessons in disaster relief were learned.

While I do not speak for the church leaders in question, I do feel the need to put another side of the picture out there, because the Internet, Misinformation, and the Mob Mentality are too dangerous to go unchecked right now.

those rape stories in the superdome were never proven to be true tho

they raise some very good points as far as an organization aspect is concerned, but a LOT of stuff people were saying in early reports were just hearsay and was never confirmed

edit: Go figure just posted what i was saying

I don't know where the food bank is in Houston but hopefully it didn't get hit with a bunch of flood damage and people can actually get to the food bank safely, I doubt their trucks are of any use on those roads at the moment

The food bank helps year round. So they are legit

HEB is our state local grocery chain. They were out on the coast almost right before or maybe right after the storm hit. They have kitchens set up all over. Feeding Texans and providing supplies

Also look into dog shelters. They have their own animals plus evacuated pets and lost pets due to the storm.

@Elzo69Renaissance don't feel bad. Anything anyone can do will help. We are taking a load of stuff down there on Friday. I've been putting feminine products in bags to pass out. Along with hand sanitizer, brushes, and pony tail holders/ headbands. Figure I can maybe put a smile on some women's and girls faces. Tried to think outside of the normal box. Plus was inspired by this lady who does this daily for homeless in Cali. Also side note ...Glad you are out of the hospital.
