Gold been the new platinum. Platinum is the new multi platinum.

Its pretty humbling actually.

But you know someone is gonna break the cycle.

Nicki & Drake managed to grab hold of the Lil Wayne train when it was at its peak and it helped them in turn to becoming platinum artists.

I wonder whose gonna be the next platinum rapper.

I actually thought it would be Wiz but he topped out around the 700k mark.

lets stay on topic despite the fact the creature from the black lagoon has returned

I thought for sure Wiz was gonna go Plat. Black and Yellow was huge. But he still did good i think. I say this all the time, but I think that J. Cole will be a Platinum artist in the future, once he finds his sound.

since we spamming you couldn't tell me shit bout this nigga when i was kid i been on youtube looking at highlights for the last hour

If I throw a rock into a pack of dogs how will I know which dog got hit?

I seen enough "exposures" to not take Trevor and Molly too seriously..I can simply go on Twitter and use the

"Avatars we trust formula" when it comes to cities and what music they fuck with.

Let's go for their feelings: The Cracka told me Paul Wall had 1 Platinum album in his 4 album discography, I told him that was awesome and that some days the sun might shine on a dogs ass so ask Paul what else he got....he reacted swiftly.

The key to this game is longevity and consistency, you can drop 4 Gold albums in 6 years like Rozay or drop 1 platinum album in 8 years like Lloyd Banks and depending on who you ask some people say 1 platinum album is better than 4 Golds.

in this era the main concern should be on taking ownership of as many revenue streams as possible within the industry.

tru...i give up on these burn victimz lol

It's crazy, Gee's groupies come in here just to flirt with him for some male-on-male attention and then the derail is in effect.

I'm looking at some of these posts wondering why these dudes is in here posting multiple off-topic posts.... but I guess if theirs 999,999,999 threads on the I.C they will simply pick whatever thread Gee is in because it ain't about discussing the topic it's all about interacting with your favorite Black guy.

Ghostface first album went platinum, but Supreme Clentele is my favorite out of his discography.

cain soundz dumb as hell sayin that & co-signin a cracka DONKEY who is 1 of da main reasonz threadz get derail'd smh

Their world revolves around YOU, if they didn't like the attention they'd simply put you on ignore or go play in one of the other 999,999,999 threads on the I.C. It's an attention thing.

It's some of them I forgot to put on ignore so its my fault to a degree. Cain mainly posts in the Donkey doesn't he?

But yeah Rozay did 130K.

I think the same about Cole World

I always could see J. Cole's second album being the one that got him plat.

His first single would be on some Jay-Z "Hard Knock Life" type song

dead@ lamont...

Yeah I could see cole really havin his big break by his 3rd album. Jay, T.I., even Pac didn't really breakthrough till their third albums.

Called it a few months ago. Ross is gonna do Deeper Than Rap numbers, and max out around 400k.

GFID didn't have bangers like Aston Martin Music and BMF, which I believed helped push Teflon Don to a Gold certification.

I Love My Bitches (dope Just Blaze beat, too bad it went to waste)

You Da Boss (bangin, and it fared well on the charts)

Touch'n You (average song, and it was outshined by it's better half "Lemme See")

So Sophisticated (sounds like a throwaway track, nothing special about this song at all)

Hold Me Back (garbage, straight sewage fluid)

3 Kings (peaked at #60 on the Hip-Hop/R&B Charts, but it fared well just off the names of the artists. Jay's verse was underwhelming imo)

Still a pretty good album though.

he's projected at 200k the 1st week so he basically gold now..

if he was gonna go plat it shouldve been from the last album..

this album doesnt have a platinum single, which explains why he's been making a vid for dam near evry song on the album. throwing shit at the wall & hoping something will stick..

Damn don't crucify the man. Ross was doin his thang for about 3 yrs. He just starting to slip, Rich Forever should of been his album tho.

I'd be surprised if any rapper went Platinum this year

I think 50 Cent really scared to drop an album cuz he know it ain't goin Platinum lol

its at the point were most fan are tryin to purposely ignore 50 lol

I wouldn't count Fiddy out, his last album did 160K first week but that was 2009 he might do 190K in 2012.

His fans ain't really ignoring him they just been paying more attention to Ross waiting to see how successful his run will be.

Salute to Wale for that 164K first week in 2011, he came a long way from being dropped by Interscope...Jimmy Iovine can be cruel when he wants to.
