highly incorrect. The hs/fan may simply be shot. This happens a lot with laptops. Might just need a replacement fan.

she clearly stated the fan is not moving and she shut it down herself. That is not indicative of a fall or motherboard failure.

What wasn't mentioned was the extent to which it powers up, whether the screen back light comes on, whether the screen displays anything, whether it gets past POST, etc. If the laptop fully powers up, then it's clearly the fan.konceptjones;1650768 said:she clearly stated the fan is not moving and she shut it down herself. The laptop still works fine. I just shut it down before it over heated and crashed completely. Its an hp laptop.....
