American Gangster>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Yes, undeniably better and the production was better also. I think "BP3" gets a lot of hate that reminds of the hate "Vol 3" got. Jay switched up the production for this one so it threw a lot of fans off. KanYe success after "808's" definitely had a huge influence on the sound of this album. Thank God, "Ghetto Techno" didn't make the album, lol.

I liked it one of the few hip-hop albums I liked in past 5 years. This and kanye's 808 always get rotation.

Also this album record breaking success cements the Fact that Jay ran 2009 just as much as Eminem did so Em did not run last year single handedly.

grammy's don't affect my point of view, so no i still think its a below average album...A. Keys made this album what it is

no offense but thats a dumbass statement. how they hell could she make the album when she was only on one song?

I never understood the hate BP3 received. it was very solid. wasn't his best but it wasn't his worst either. I'd say its in the middle in a list of his albums

no matter how many Grammys it won my opinion hasn't changed. I enjoyed the album then and I still enjoy it now

I feel as if Jay let Timbaland guilt him into making it on the album, i can honestly say Timbaland contributed nothing to BP3. Timbaland has lost himself as a producer imo, with that said Jay should of kept BK Anthem, BK we go hard, and Swagger like us.

I thought the album was a 3.5 mic when it dropped and it still stands to this day. It was a neccessary album though, it reminded me of Vol 2, it's an album where Jay had to reinvent his sound so the fans don't box him in as a artist and say he fell off.

Still a solid album, always thought it was..........I honestly feel that Jay goes over the majority of heads and thats where the hate derives from.......Noone is touching this nigga and the accolades T/S pointed out prove this. I still pick up missed gems from some of his early albums........

Jay-Z = GOAT.

It's a solid album, but some of the worst songs of his career are on it: "Off That", "Young Forever" and "Hate". Nothing on the album is truly classic except "Empire State of Mind". The remainder of the album is just dope Jay Z songs.

I wasn't even feelin it like that... It's slightly above average for today's standards, but it's below average for an artist of Jay's caliber.. I'm not a huge fan but I have no hate towards tha man.. I just don't think it was anything more than a alright/kinda good album. DOA was what got me to buy tha album, Empire State of Mind and Run This Town were stand out tracks and there were a couple other nice ones, but I don't feel like tha rest of tha album stayed on par with those songs. It's nothing spectacular for me.. Almost forgettable.

SMH @ "Off That". How does Jay, Timbaland and Drake make an average cut like that? but Jay and Kid Cudi almost drop a near Classic with "Already Home"? "Off That" was the 1st time I felt Jay and Timbaland's chemistry is finally falling off. Well it's been fallin off this decade but they atleast dropped "Dirt of your shoulders". "Reminder" was another bad Timbaland beat. I agree with those saying that some of the weak or average tracks really hurt the LP and they do. "Empire" and "Run this Town" are the only truly Classic tracks to me. It's very rare Jay gets outshinned so KanYe's verse on that really helps the song in my view. Like I said it's in the bottom half of Jay's catalog but the album did make history.

Call me crazy but I loved the album and its direction. Muuuuuuuuch better than that sizzling trash known as Kingdom Come. I wanted a refund after after the album flatlined post track 4.............
