They took away that hunger, the drive to succeed, by feeding him that much money so soon. Truthfully, who knows what could have been if he didn't get the money, however he did, and had nothing to work for.

Russell was just lazy and stop trying. Plus the team he was on was bad also, and the Raiders have Al Davis, which hurts more than helps.

Point blank.......the niggardly was NEVER used to working hard.....we from the same city....and I can tell you he was treated like royalty.....and it happened at LSU also....he relied so much on his natural talent he didn't work....then he got to the pros and thought he was just gonna get by on that natural ability.

T/S acts like it's a law passed by the Federal Gov't that forced Al Davis to even draft a QB.

You're supposed to know exactly what *type* of player you want in every position that you have a need in. And if you don't see that then you either get the best player available, trade UP or trade OUT.

Perfect example of why you don't *settle* for what *could* fall in your lap in the draft. If the draft don't have what you want/need, get the fuck out and use the draft picks as currency to get what you really want.
