Great thread. I said something similar in a thread a few weeks ago. It has gotten to a point where anybody that says something you don't agree with is labeled a coon. In '15 it's a cheap way to rile dumb n*ggas who can't think for themselves up against some black person in the public eye. Calling blacks with a differentn opinion coon is also some crab in the barrel sh*t in alot of cases.

Notice how the 'coons' are in alot of cases black men who are in the public eye and seem ton be doing well for themselves. They're 'winning', getting a paycheck from these white folks. Some of them might say stuff to ingratiate themselves to the people who cut their checks, but since this is a democracy they're entitled to their opinion. Notice how the people who label other blacks coons are often not in the financial position to help themself let alone anyone else, do nothing for blacks other than talk sh*t and rarely disprove what the so called coons say without resorting to namecalling and smearing.

Ask these people who call others coons what they do for black people and they'll change the subject lol...

Define calling out. Kendrick is cool but @ the end of the day he's an entertainer. He's never gonna say too much to offend his costumer base. I think you're referring to situations like Rosewood, Black Wall Street etc. and gthe countless lynchings that went unpunished.

What's the alternative? Nobody feels sorry for black people. We don't get the synpathy other minorities like Jews get. Blacks ain't the only group that been treated bad by these Europeans. Jews in central and Eastern Europe had to deal with pogroms - similar to lynchings in the US. The law in most European countries restricted them from doing certain professions. They weren't allowed to own land. If they had been stuck on complaining what Europeans did to 'em their fate would've been similar to that of Gypsies in Eastern Europe.

The thread starter and K. Dot fail to see the complete picture or have fallen victim to mass media portrayals of African Americans. The education system in every inner city is horrible. The job prospects for inner city individuals is dismal. The black father has essentially been removed from the black family through petty drug offenses which, given the dismal job prospects, sometimes becomes a necessity. For Kendrick Lamar, an individual that grew up in Compton, to say that what we need is respect to solve the ills of Black communities is ignorant and extremely short sighted. Respect is sadly on the bottom of the totem pole in terms of importance when your lights are off, rent is due, and you have a baby crying from hunger.

This is the same argument many conservatives take when speaking on "socialist" programs that benefit the poor/working poor. "Well if you respect yourself a little more, pull your pants up, and stop wearing hoodies your situation would be different". That does shit for how we're perceived by Whites and others in their discriminatory practices. The best solution to our problems is an emphasis on education, responsible procreation, and establishing legacies that give back to the Black community. Your suggestion is a solution, but a temporary solution IMO. I think a lot of us forget to what extent white people are willing to go to stay on top. You guys will eventually see with each wake up call, and then you'll finally be on board when you witness it with your own eyes.

If we start working towards your goal of creating a black community based on economics, the government will put a stop to it through propaganda and the "legal system".

A permanent solution is creating a base foundation and moving that foundation to an area where we are no longer the minority race. Certain countries in Africa are perfect for this, but a lot us are scared of the unknown of leaving America which is instilled in us through the news and other outlets.

But by all means, we won't know until we try, so let's build a little Africa in the US, if it gets burned down or stopped, maybe more people will understand what needs to be done. If they let us cook, then we can emulate that same structure throughout the country.

Well the thought behind it is that the cops think we are animals. There is no way we can change those opinions if we're acting like animals.

That thought process would be logical if the majority of us acted like that. That's the problem with white people is that they don't see the average black person. They are programmed to see only the worst of us, and by default think that applies to all of us. Black people shouldn't have to dress in suits to be seen as human beings. These arguments like K dot's and Pharrell's really only boil down to deflection and praying outsiders somehow take the kindness out of their hearts too see us as equals. Loving ones self isn't going to stop a man from killing you; won't stop economic disparity; and it won't even stop oppression as crazy as that sounds. Why can't people speak affecting our society from multiple angles without people noting what's unimportant. It's all important to a degree. People are called Coons when all they do is suck on the white man while generally admonishing the black community. It's problematic to bring up skewed racially motivated statistics to throw shade on our people when we are trying to seek justice and protect our interest in our own creations. It also does a disservice to people who are trying to clean up the community. Those efforts were already looked down upon openly by white society when Obama was admonished for being a "community Organizer". We can deal with multiple angles at one.

Jesse Jackson had no issues marching and Ferguson, and trying to procure technology jobs for our people. How can you even compare black on black crime with the duties of a law enforcement officer employed by the state? They are held to completely different standards or one. Secondly, blacks normally get prosecuted for their crimes and if you want to bring up snitching. Most people do snitch and it's another wack talking point that holds no merit. So crime may exist, but it's dealt with unlike shady "police actions". Speaking on a white person from a country as steeped in racism as it is here doing blackface and saying racist shit will not detract from other issues at all.
