SHOULD NAS AND DAMIAN MARLEY MAKE A DISTANT RELATIVES PART II??

I'm all for another collaborative output from them. It doesn't have to be "Part II," but whatever they're inspired by @ the time. I love the chemistry and contrast of styles. Damian was murdering songs on that album. I was highly impressed. Between Distant Relatives and How I Got Over I was very happy with releases from my favorite artists in 2010.

Sidenote: Nas and Common also have styles that complement each other IMO b/c they rhyme on a different pace but I'm sure they can still build and make cohesive songs the way Nas and Damian did. I'd cop it blindly w/ no other info other than it's Nas x Common.

Side note: it'll be dope to see Nas and D'Angelo collaborate.. my fav rapper and my fav singer on a track together!?.. one can only wish..

My head would fuckin explode. D is my favorite singer of the past 20 years. He need to quit playin with that James River album.

100% cosign.. I read an excerpt about ?uestlove discussing the album, and he made it seem mind-blowing..

Also, I remember when I first joined, DR and WTT used to always be compared, lol.. DR >> WTT imo..

I voted No for the simple fact that there's a 99% chance that it won't be better than the first one.

What is this, an appreciation thread for all the albums which will never receive a budget? Ain't no label financing a second DR, they probably barely recooped from the first.
On the real I think they can go Indie. I don't remember DefJam doing much in promotion.

True, it can still be a good album but if it doesnt live up to the first one all anyone is going to say is "ehh not as good as the first", I was nervous about Lost Tapes 2 when it was supposed to drop, I know it wasnt going to live up to the first one, I doubt Nas even knew the first one was going to get the acclaim that it got, and even though It was written was a classic and there was enough classic material during the I am/Nastradamus era all you used to hear is how he'll never drop an album like Illmatic

Distant Relatives album doesn't get the praise it deserves in America. International fans appreciate music more than we do. I think they should do another one but go about it differently.

This is wishful thinking but maybe they should add a few more surprising artist that fans of other genre would like. Like a compilation album or something. For instance, Sade. I think she can fit perfectly with them for a song or two. A few more African Rap Artist like K'naan talking about what's going on in the mother land and stuff like that. Maybe add a few old school classic soul R&B artist as well. They should also add just two rappers (one old school and one new school) that are lyrically & musically great. Some more reggae artist to. All of them singing, rapping, and shedding some more light about Africa history past present and future.

"I'm the animal that Hugh Hefner created

The only nigga Sade dated the most hated Nas nigga"

Lol but K'naan fits well with them. Aside from "Tribes at War" I love when he featured Nas on "Nothing to Lose." I felt like that song was slept on heavily.

That's a great idea with the compilation Galou.

And yea I'm not saying Nas shouldn't release another solo first. That's already confirmed. But I'm talking down the line.

I prefer an Andre 3000 & Nas colab album..but, that Distant Relatives album made a ton of tour money, they were in every country on the globe..i say no because I prefer Nas to focus on his solo career. And with all his business ventures recently, i dont even think he's thinking about that.

I liked the remix version. The beat is better than the original. Knaan ripped that verse on tribal war

Also i want to see more tracks like this that was left off the album.

Ancient People was on the delux version on itunes.

I rather hear makeveli part 26 than distant relatives 2.I haven't heard distant relatives 1 just 2-3 songs and knew that wacc ass album was a coaster or a frisbee for your pet dog

Only nasir groupies, jamaicans and afrikans want to hear a sequel to that trash.
