Y'all getting into dumbass arguments now. The king of rock and king of pop are not official, just titles their respective fans gave em. Elvis acknowledged his music being from blacks. If it wasn't Elvis, someone else would have done it. I'm not a fan of his music but I don't hate him either. I don't give a shit.

The king of rock and the king of pop ARE official. Ultimately fans are the consumers, and the consumers make the decision of who is what. Without respective fans, you don't have a career so lets not act like fans don't hold any weight. Plus magazines, publications, TV segments, etc have long championed these titles to them - and perception is reality, the global media has done a great job of asserting that.
