I think if they want to be tax exempt they should have to satisfy very specific requirements.

In the very least all money should be accounted for, upkeep, overhead and salaries for all employees should be disclosed as public record and a certain percentage of any profit should have to be spent on domestic charities (not that missionary bullshit either).
