Ice T didn't say that you had to live out every lyric, he was just commenting on being fake and selling out hiphop.

Why take another person's (who's still living) name and rap about the lifestyle that they lived when you didn't live it.

I think people who aren't really gangsta should rap like J Cole, Phonte, Kanye, Elzhi, Outkast, Drake (when he's not on the emo tip), etc.

Ummmm....question. Can you define "fixing" the culture? Those legends laid out the blueprint..

Then the newer generation comes in the culture that was already laid out for them to carry tradition but you have some that doesn't follow it let's say making a new "renovations" to the rules (and that's a 50/50 chance that could either make it fresh or fuck it up) and the legends ca be like " alright, that's what's up" or WTF and SMH...
