Shaquille O’Neal Says “Showing Respect” Will Stop A Cop From Shooting You...

If I'm not mistaken, Shaq has made it clear that he always wanted to be a cop, so his opinion is extremely biased. Then you mix in the fact that he's been a spoiled athlete since forever and you have your answer.

People like this can either be dismissed, or you can attempt to create dialogue with them and come to a common ground. He could very easily be naive to the situation of others who are not in his circle.

Us: we would like equal treatment and to not be abused or harassed by our employees

Coons: be respectful to known race soldiers so u won't be killed or have your rights violated

Us: *violated regardless*

My granddad didn't even own a pair of jeans. If they weren't slacks he wasn't wearing them.

That "if you just pull your pants up and show some respect" line is bullshit.

are you comparing 1960s america to 2016 america

GTFOH

You serious?

Black people have so many rats in our ranks it ridiculous....it's almost like we like being subjugated

the black race has been compromised. i'm not surprised he'd take their side. he was a deputized policeman when he was in Miami. he even made a couple of arrest.

You shouldn't have even had to explain that shit.

The point was so clear

I'm sure it had nothing to do with that fact that he's on tv...is pretty much known internationally...and is rich. I'm sure none of that national presence he demands plays a factor in it. He's right...it's probably just his kindness...

But yeah...I don't give a fuck about anything black celebrities say now. They've either been wealthy too long or sold out. You look at the Los Angeles Clippers situation a couple years ago...all the ballers were surprised as hell...thought they were too rich for that level of discrimination. Part of me...honestly believes these celebrities truly believe the things they say. That they have honestly been brainwashed and conditioned to believe that skin color plays no role in your opportunities and chances of success...all the while receiving this knowledge from the white people they are making richer through their own effort. Never once questioning the fact that they never seem to have anyone black directly above them profiting.

J. Cole once said "Heavy heart...as I sit in this range. Counting thousands out...am I about money or about change?" Fact of the matter is that we don't have the leaders we had previously...the people making it to the top are about money..not change.

My only gripe is that as an adult, I can decipher through this bullshit...children? Young, black children need to know that there's still improvement that needs to be made. What these athletes are doing as role models...is potentially damaging the youth...allowing the youth to believe everything is ok in these regards...and as a result the improvements we want to see in society will be stagnated because young children who look up to Cam, or Wayne, or Shaq...will honestly believe race has nothing to do with the fact that they didn't get the job offer they were overqualified for...or they got pulled over going 62 in a 60 when all the other cars we moving way faster...

But...I got shit to do today...so imma digress from this shit
