I agree with most of this, with the exception of the bolded. It's easier to win a game if you start off even vs startin off down 20. People in the hood are born into an environment where you're encouraged to kill yourself at every turn from the time you can walk. Not everyone is going to possess the resolve to rise above that.

From poor education, to mcdonalds on every block, to gun stores, to cigarette ads everywhere you look, even hip hop, the voice that replaces a lot of fathers drawing weak minded niggas into the belief that their brother is out to get em. my great grandmother turns 90 this yr we plannin a big party.. out of all her descendants im the oldest male still livin born to her.. im the last livin male on my father's side that can carry the name..

i got aunts and grandmother in they 70s ..moms and female cousins in they 50s then there's me.. ill be 35 this month..

i watched all my cousins and uncles get picked off.. i went to more then 10 funerals before i was 15.. all them niggas was active tho so u could kind of make a case against them for that.. BUT approachin 3yrs my lil cousin who aint never did shit to nobody got gunned down for simply bein in an area he wasnt known..

it was then i realized its jus the nature of th fuckin beast..

the longer u dwell in that wildlife exhibit the greater ur chances of bein devoured.. i talked to damn near everyone in my family and nobody wants to leave.. they've all accepted it.. done watched they sons get murdered and okay wit raisin they grandsons in the same situation..

told them id buy the land and they can sell they houses and we can build.. u think they took the bait!?

told them instead of payin tithes we csn pay a pot to ourselves and after a yr start a business and let the lil cousins run it since they aint got jobs or bullshit ones..

or we jus save money as a family!? the only way u can get these muthafuckas to save is if we goin on a family cruise.. they'll save for that..

I feel you, and i've tried to raise people's level of thinking around me as well. And have been met with the same bullshit, I agree to leave niggas where they at if that's where they want to be, but as far as blowin it up. There's a part of me that wants to drop a nuke in that bitch and start over, but on the other, I don't know what kind of dude i'd be without a lot of the lessons I got from comin up. And no matter what happens, I could go home and get real, real love. It's crazy too because I can see niggas got real talent, but they let their surroundings get the best of em. But that goes back to what I said, everybody don't have that resolve to beat themselves like that. They get settled into their comfort zone and boom, you look up, an you 50, and it's over.

There was a time where every time I sensed any type of failure in doing something else, I literally went and bought some work, every time, it's because it's what I knew. But like you said, the longer you stay in, the more likely you'll end up stayin, so finally I said the streets gon be there forever and just walked, whatever happened, happened. Not everybody is willin to do that because they can't see further than the corner store. Respect tho. I understand exactly how you feel because i've been in that spot. Housing projects and all that was basically social experiments, people of those numbers were never designed to live that close to each other, throw poverty in, and what you got? The majority of poor whites are quite alright living in their own communities while blaming blacks for their misery.

No the solution isn't to do that. We continually miss the opportunity to gentrify the neighborhoods where we are the majority. What ends up happening is, whites come in and do this very thing. Blacks are then pushed out and forced to start from scratch.

I agree with most of this, with the exception of the bolded. It's easier to win a game if you start off even vs startin off down 20. I feel you, and i've tried to raise people's level of thinking around me as well. And have been met with the same bullshit, I agree to leave niggas where they at if that's where they want to be, but as far as blowin it up. There's a part of me that wants to drop a nuke in that bitch and start over, but on the other, I don't know what kind of dude i'd be without a lot of the lessons I got from comin up.
