Damn I thought it was just like 4 hours LOL

He has taken a few drinks of water so.. he's going to have to take a bathroom break. I think according to Senate rules he can take a seat for a few minutes if he yields his time to another Senator & then speaks again.

Obama called an emergency press conference with Bill Clinton to do damage control.

Obama defended trickle down economics during this press conference.

Fuck Barack Obama.

Why would he bring Bill out, though?

Who is that appealing to, exactly?

Bill Clinton is the iconic figure of the Democratic Party's sharp turn to the right. But as far as I can remember, even he never endorsed Reaganomics.

Ah, I get it now.

The news is all over Clinton's dick, while barely (if at all) mentioning Sanders.

Obama... you done it again!

That press conference with Bill Clinton was bizarre. I have never seen that shit before - the current president invite his predecessor into the press room to hold a press conference. Then dude walked out half and hour later. WTF? Obama looked weak.There. I said it.

On the positive side, Bernie Sanders was great today. I kept the TV on CSPAN all day.

I said Obama was weak 2 days ago. He says the GOP held him hostage. smdh. He's been held hostage on everything. Bush did what ever the hell he wanted.Obama is smart and has Brilliant ideas he just dont have the respect and fear of his subordinates. There are different types of leaders and he has shown to be the wrong kind of leader we need during times like these.

He wanted to emphasize that this was the best deal he was gonna get.

Because it was.

GOP rode on a wave of "We're gonna fight the Kenyan Dictator! And we're gonna be fiscally responsible this time! Honest!"

What's the first major thing they do?

Strike a deal with Satan himself. A deal that costs more than the Stimulus Package. Deficit funded. That helps the economy's growth next year and consequently, helps Obama.

Cue Tea Party split:

FreedomWorks, the Tea Party-affiliated group, is supporting the measure, arguing in a letter on its website that while they are troubled by aspects of the bill, it represents "an opportunity to avert the coming tax disaster" represented by a failure to extend the expiring Bush-era tax cuts.

The Tea Party Patriots, by contrast, are opposing the bill. On their homepage, the group links to a Hugh Hewitt column in which the conservative radio host complains that the agreement "spends billions and billions of dollars that the country does not have in order to prevent a tax hike that the country voted against. In essence the GOP bribed the president to follow the will of the people."

Sanders filibustered? Good for him. His Mirror Universe counterpart Jim DeMint is threatening to filibuster too.

Every time I read your posts, I think of a generic, hackish pundit watching what the analysts say on the 5 PM programming so he knows what to say at 6.

No offense.

So anyway, I watched bits and piece of it, had it on for few hours in the background earlier. Of course he's doing a lot of rambling and repeating himself (which we all would if we had to make a speech last 9 straight hours), but the parts I've heard make a good populist appeal. I bet KTULU is right though, and there will be a criminal lack of coverage on this, and the coverage it gets will skew heavily negative.

Yeah, props to Bernie Sanders for challenging Obama's bullshit tax cut plan that is going to bankrupt the nation, along with the rest of Reaganomics.

Shame on Obama for giving credibility to the failed politics of Reaganomics and looking like a little kid that can't take responsibility for himself.

"I'm gonna go to a Christmas party with Michelle"

Obama is never gonna hear the end of this one.

Yep, let Obama agree to a tax cut plan that is gonna cost this country a fortune and NOT help the economy. When unemployment benefits run out, Obama can easily blame Republicans for holding the American people hostage and not caring about the poor.

With Obama caving in like a bitch, as usual, he's giving credibility to Bush's failed tax policies. If something is going to be added to the deficit, it should at least help most Americans. The tax cuts will not help, they are in place now and we still have 9.8% unemployment. Damn, why can't Obama stand strong on one issue and stick to that? What is Obama's fascination with looking like George W Bush the 2nd.

FUCK IT.........let's elect Sarah Palin to be president in 2012. It's not like there is any difference between Obama and Republicans anymore. I'm supporting Sarah Palin for 2012, who else is with me? It can't get any worse.

first of its a 700 billion dollar tax plan 130 billion goes to extending rich ppl's benfeits for 2 yrs.

Obama wants to run on raising rich ppl's taxes in 2012. The tea partys wanted a permanent extension.

500 billion is for Middleclass tax cuts, another 100 billion is for social security tax reduction for ppl who make

under 100,000 a yr. then obama had the 50 billion dollar extention of his tax credit for education and child care.

its the best deal he can reach we just gonna argue about this again in 2 yrs chill out dude

plus obama got unemployment benefeits for 13 months and extension of clean energy tax credit.
