Whats up Draft?

Great drop, Definitly has a certain feel to this piece.

I would say a descriptive pain and heartache. Props on the descriptive parts, definitly sucked me into this poem.

I Think the best part was the last part from "i will not see no return...".

Good Looking Man

Props on the feedback; it's not a piece I've tried to perfect. In fact, I didn't even look over it. It was more just a venting piece.

Ahhh nothing too serious (lies obviously) will tell you when I finally write back to your email... It's just about how you can put a lot of faith in someone who had your back for a few years, you felt you grew closer and closer to them and eventually partook in a relationship with them. Only, they weren't able to dedicate themselves to it because of their past and lack of faith and so that leads you to feeling the same as they do about love/relationships.

When the next one comes along with all of the faith that you now lack, you kinda wanna turn away from it all because you can't show them the same admiration/care etc. You don't see yourself as they do, even if what they see is a true reflection of you; issues inside can affect your true being.

But yeah, I'll tell you how that all relates to me when i finally respond to your email... Trying to find a spare 5 hours hahaha jokes, I'll get back to you soon. Been away and busy a lot recently.

More like 6 or 7 hours .... Theres no rush Draft, i totally forgot about it actually.

Sometimes trying to perfect a poem can destroy the true essence of the poem i find, trying to make it perfect sometimes can ruin it.

Sounds like you been through alot man.......Time to lose yourself in a new hip hop release **Cough** 27th releases ** haha

Keep ya head up Draft!!

Haha I'm not surprised you forgot think you sent it at the start of summer!

Yeah, that's definitely true… sometimes lines are great in their raw form. But it is hard not to have weakness when a poem is penned in a very short period of time, I find.

haha definitely, my heads already pointing at the 27th, also received four great Japanese releases in the post, including two Michita's, an re: plus and Nujabes first edition Modal Soul!!! So, I'm tied over :tu

Yeah, I liked the ending, tbh I felt the first two verses were weak; but then I liked how the rest of it went... like I say, it's not one of my most polished pieces... just something I wrote in a dark moment lol.

hahahaha you always say this, but I never see you in the m'effin Essence!!! haha you should peep my new playlist in there entitled Japanese Joy Vol. 2, I think you'd really like it :tu

I am without rising, without passion, without love
I am a cut above the mentally ill
I cannot seek happiness for that I do not dwell
All the wishes I once made have not been promised
Fulfilled or cherished, forgone down the wishing well

these lines had me restart from the beginning jus so I could feel the strength of those lines right there

like ya Avatar...we quest?ove

keep droppin those gems

Thanks VSOP, this isn't my best piece, in fact I only like what you quoted and a few other lines as well, but it's something that's good to get off your chest and it's unfinished and will stay that way… but at least there's some good lines in there as you say….

Thanks, yeah Quest?ove is a great member of The Roots, but I used him mostly as an iconic figure that represents The Essence of hip hop, his drum patterns are really nice and also the look that he shows really represents music to me; it's something that we breathe daily. So, it represents The Essence where I mod on the I.C. if you like non-commercialised hip hop, you should check it out; particularly the new mix I dropped in there entitled, Japanese Joy Vol. 2 :tu It's great to write to :tu

Yeah, you been around here for years from what I remember too? Like back in 2003 you were here when I first joined, I'm pretty sure…

It's cool that The Bootleg was made for you and that you have Kast on your arm, I'd like to see that…

You ever been into J-Hip Hop? I love Japanese stuff, they make phenomenal beats to me… beats that are so laid back and melodic that you can listen and write at the same time…

Glad you like The CunninLynguists though, if you click my sig, you're taken to The Essence, check out the stickies there and download my Japanese Joy Vol. 2 mix, I think you'll really like it given that we have similar music tastes, more recently I've been playing the hell out of D'Angelo!

Do you literally have ADD though?

I feel you lol, I struggle to find time to post on forums too; if I wasn't a mod I'd just lurk to be honest, but I do enjoy posting regularly to keep The Essence going and to still have a place to discuss under-the-radar artists, I went to see CunninLynguists this year, great show.
