Y'all do remember that this is how the whole series got started?

But that was back on what... the PS1 and some shit?

I guess bringing back that theme to the current gen ain't a bad idea at this point.

Yeah weapons wise this could mean making every shot/bullet count. Hopefully they make the knockdowns not to overpowered

A new screenshot for Call of Duty 2014 displays multiple military soldiers fitted in exoskeleton armor suits.

Game Informer revealed the new Call of Duty screenshot, along with news that the publication's cover image and story for next issue will detail Sledgehammer's upcoming game. The image (seen above) shows off a modern or near-future setting, with what appears to possibly be the main character in the forefront.

The soldier looks almost identical to the person in the Call of Duty image IGN unveiled last week. Also of note is the file name for the screenshot, which is called "Blacksmith" — maybe hinting at the game's title or the possible protagonist's surname.

The official YouTube page for Call of Duty also posted a new video that focuses on private military contractors, strongly implying this year's FPS will focus on that topic. The short film concludes with: "What happens if [PMCs] stop taking orders and start taking over?"

The "new era" of Call of Duty is set to be revealed Sunday. Stay tuned to IGN for all of your Call of Duty news.

They're gonna have to pull something great out of the hat to make me buy another COD game.

BO 1 & 2 were my fav CoD's

Waiting on Treyarch.

I'll keep my eye on this, though.

Can't lie, I miss playing CoD. I haven't played in a long time.

Can't think of too many games set during WWI compared to WWII. Even the first 3 COD's were set in WWII. So if they set a COD game during that period it's already adding something fresh to the formula. The limited arsenal should also inspire more creative and imaginative ways to play. Could have potential.

Xbox One and PS4 aren't even "next-gen" anymore. They haven't been for months. They're current gen and for that reason alone I do see the new COD being exclusive. In order for this gen to take off and to get people to phase out the previous gen you need to offer consumers some incentives. Exclusivity is one of those incentives. It's the same reason games like Arkham Knight are not being developed for 360 and PS3 as well.
