Haha if the thread continues to flop, I'll sticky this in The Essence as a blueprint for people searching The Essence… looking forward to next year, really anticipating what comes from Fashawn!!!

I might be one of the few people on here who had heard of Pigeon John. He has done a lot of music with "The LA Symphony", I use to listen when I was in High School, I was only into underground Hip-Hop back then. Young kid, lol. I don't like him though. I do like Kendrick a lot though, one of my new favorites.

Can I post music in this thread also? Anyone ever heard of SchoolBoy Q? He is in the group "Black Hippy" with Kendrick Lamar. I have both of his albums. Here are my favorite songs from him:

Hands on the Wheel featuring A$AP Rocky

To Tha Beat (F'd Up)

Situations

@edutained_by_hh yeah of course, no problem :tu

Yeah, I like Schoolboy Q too, although I don't feel his subject matter or depth is really on a par with Lamar; but then you can't expect a bunch of beasts to emerge from the wilderness in one group; they all hold their own on the mic.

Dope that you know Pigeon John; that said, have you listened to The Summertime Pool Party??? I can't see how anyone would dislike that album if they listened to it with an open mind and a heart for hip hop…

I agree. Q isn't on the same level with Kendrick with regards to anything. Kendrick has him beat in every category in my opinion. Out of the 4 in the group, Q is 3rd behind Kendrick and Jay Rock.

No I have not listen to that album. Just features. If that album is on spotify I will give it a listen. Unless you have a link to a site that streams it.

damn you put jay rock over schoolboy and ab? i dont see that too often, most people kinda sleep on jay. he had some good shit on follow me home. I feel like he might be the best at doing hooks, kinda like TDE's version of rick ross. of course I've only listened to 1 Q's mixtapes and nothing from Ab lol
