Didn't Dan (Goodman's character) die and the show ended up being a coping mechanism of grief in the wife's head? Never saw the show regularly but I remember that pissing people off. Where can you even go from there? Unless you ignore it.

Yea. And they won the lotto. Was no point to the show after that once they weren't white trash no more.

Well, no..not "and". They didn't actually win the lotto. In the series finale, we find out the show (mainly the last season) is all a book Roseanne is writing to, like Broddie said, cope with Dan's death the season before.

It retcons the lotto BS and ties the show back to something that happened in like season 1...Dan building a writing room for Roseanne that we never saw again.

But the reboot would be a pretty different show if it follows the "real" story instead of what Roseanne was writing. Dan dead, Jackie would be gay, Darlene was with Mark, not David...David was with Becky, not Darlene...etc.

But they could just say she's still writing and everything would be as we remembered. Theyd have to say they spent all the lotto money tho lol

So its official now. ABC, 8 episodes, whole cast back (including both Beckys).
