Asked before the Lakers played the Knicks Friday night if the Cavs would be a playoff team without LeBron, Artest didn’t hesitate.

“Actually I thought about that [Thursday],” Artest said. “If you take LeBron off that team, no. They’re not. They’re nothing. Not that they’re nothing, they’re still human beings. But you take him off that team, no. I guess that’s why they got me, to take him out of the game. [Thursday] it didn’t work. They got us this year, so all we can do is move on from that and see what happens in the playoffs.”

Where are the Beans fans at? They know it's the truth, Lebron is essentially playing the 1-4 spot; them other niggas is the rest of the Jackson 5. Lebron James is Peyton Manning right now

The Lakers are the only team in the league that if you take away their best player they still make the playoffs.

I disagree with Ron Ron I mean Shaqs old n shit but if he's healthy along with Mo Will, Big Z I still think they'd finish with around 40 wins which should be good enough to make the playoffs in the east

First of all, Shaq is healthy and aint doing shit. Big Z scores off Lebrons penetrations and open shots, Mo Williams can't create his own shots and he ain't an assist type point guard. The Cavs would probably win 25 games at most.

Granted the cavs wouldn't do anythang...but I think they could make the playoffs...what leads people to believe the lakers would make the playoffs without bean...not saying I disagree...but they haven't had to yet. In the west anythings possible...And they certainly would be a quick exit.

They would still be good enough to finish fourth or fifth place. They would play through Gasol, who carried his team to 50 wins without a Kobe...Ron Artest would get to play more freely because hes definitely restricted from doing that on this team, and other place would get more shots. The more the ball moves around, the more easy baskets show up just look at the Rockets. Without Kobe there the ball doesnt just stop in ISO's. It would move around a create more shots. TEAM BALL! Of course they wont be as good without Kobe but they would still be good and would still win at least 55 games.

You exposed ya self right here you don't know what you talkin about Grizzlies won 50 games in 03-04 and was the 6th seed. They made the 05 playoffs(8th) and 06 they won 49 games(8th seed).Gasol was an all star and led memphis to the playoffs 3 straight years. That's when the west was deep.

as soft as the lakers play sans Kobe....there's no way they'd make the playoffs much less win in it.....

the lakers got Bynum, Odom,Gasol, and Artest on their team an din their prime. all stars on other teams and Bynum has the potential. Lebron has a bunch of role players and a washed up Shaq

A team of Bynum, Gasol-who lead the Grizz to the playoffs with less talent, Odom, Artest, Fisher and Phil Jackson coaching it couldnt make the playoffs at all? smh
