Atlanta rapper Carlos Walker, aka "Shawty Lo," was killed in a crash Wednesday morning. The Moultrie, Ga., native was 40 years old.

Fulton County Police Cpl. Maureen Smith told the Associated Press that a 2016 Audi struck a couple of trees, overturned and burst into flames before dawn Wednesday on Interstate 285 near the exit to Cascade Road, near southwest Atlanta. No other vehicles were involved.

Smith also told the AP that the driver was thrown from the car and killed while two female passengers in the car were able to escape the wreckage, and were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta with injuries that did not appear life-threatening. Their names weren't immediately released, the AP reports.

Sounds like he wasnt wearing a seat belt

Shawty Lo' was a character who somehow was able to make some decent music even though he couldn't really rap for shit.

My cousin texted me at work and told me he saw a wreck going to work, when he got to work they asked him did he know Shawty Lo died in a hit and run and he told them he rode past it and didn't know it was him.

Jacksonville traffic is ridiculous too and when I went to visit my parents in Nashville, them foreigner's can't drive for shit.

R.I.P. to LO and I hate that his kids have to deal with this at the beginning of school year.
