Rings or stats: What do you judge a player on?

Adam Morrison

Luke Walton
Bill Perdue

I would like to say rings but there are alot of players who have won rings riding the pine.

Elite players I judge by their ability to win championships though.

Luke Walton = 2 rings

Charles Barkley = 0

But no one would ever say Luke>Chuck.

Not even Bill.

Rings are slightly overrated.

if its a franchise player then most defenlty its all about the rings ya alot of scrubs got rings by riding the bench sevral has been already mention but its a team sport and you have to have someone sittin in those seats at the end of the bench just sometimes your the lucky guy sittin at the end of a championship teams bench..... but to me guys like ewing, barkley, wilkins, iverson hell ill even put webber in this shit players who for years was there teams premere player and many consedered the leagues best but never made it to the promise land and won a championships guys like that should be judge by there rings....

there has to be some gray area on this subject. ppl who say rings always get "ohh so why isnt robert horry the goat" or some lesser quality player with rings considered the best but when ur talkin about the greatest players of course rings weigh heavy in the argument.if jordan only had one ring he would not have the status he has now. the stat pushers get on my nerves although the numbers have value they certainly do not tell the whole story. every stat is now at ppls finger tips u get bombarded with these numbers, i forgot wat theard but someone pulled tv ratings, the shit goes to damn far sometimes. "in game 67 of the 96 season this player shot blah buh fuckin blah....." to those ppl the peyton mannings of the world are fuckin goats and while the terry bradshaws are fuckin bums. its not clear cut but if u wanna talk about the greatest of time type players the rings out weigh stat imo

To me it seems like the thinking is a ring is only good if you are the star player on the team.

Riding the bench is one thing, but if you are out there contributing that's another.

I will judge the player on stats, but I would rather have Manu Ginobli's 15.3 ppg (and rings) than Charles Barkley's 22.3 ppg (and no rings)

What about people like Horry who have a lot of rings, but did contribute? If both count Robert Horry shouldn't be instantly dismissed as a HOF. He has the most rings of any modern player

I say both. I'll judge them by their resume. Stats, awards and rings all in one. My nigga right here in the avi got that shit locked down tho

horry was a key contribute thats a tough one cause most defently he was a big hand in alot of teams championships id say put him in the hall or fame dude was as clutch as they came in key moments his stats isnt that of hall of fame status but what hes contributed in the key moments over and over should earn him a hof
