Its disgusting on many levels mostly because the dilution of the culture encourages talented artists to dilute their craft just to remain relevant.

The one thing we can do as members of the culture to help remedy this sickness is to support artists who stay true to the essence of the culture outside the mainstream and encourage others to do the same. I have no problem with listeners and fans supporting music thats more relatable to them because the artist is a member of their culture but when they deify that artist solely because he appeals to them I have a problem.

The hypocrisy is unsettling, the stanbase will call Kanye "gay" but he has never dressed up as a woman, been tea-bagged in public, or exposed his anus to his fans.
...the stanbase will call Rozay fake but he has never tried to hide racist songs or rapped about killing a woman that he decided to remarry twice.

Saying Recovery is HipHop album of the year is like saying Seinfeld is the greatest show of all-time or that Larry Bird is the greatest hooper of all-time...it-is-what-it-is..but we know the deal.
