Rick Ross is top 5 alive, mainstream. His lyrical content is a more raw version of Jay-Z.

He's naming his next album "Teflon Don" which was the original title to "Ready To Die" before Puff made Biggie change it. Ross doesn't know what he wants to be. C.O. one day, Noreaga the next, Biggie the next, Escobar the next. I gave up on dude awhile ago. Again the beats are what pulls me to his music but he can't hold me much longer, his songs aren't getting better.

Ross picks good beats and features. He sounds okay on a song as far as flow is concerned but I wouldn't say he's a good rapper from a " lyrical " standpoint. If you ask somebody about Big Pun, Andre 3000, Jay-Z, hell even Wayne or Drake... they can give you a quote. People always bring Ross up but they can barely quote anything he said that was hot.
