Maniac, too. I guess you can technically call it a slasher but it's so unique and unlike any other that it's well worth a watch even if you're not a slasher fan.

i think most people don't take cabin in the woods serious cuz of the comedic elements but i agree, it was a great movie.

Maniac, hands down is the best movie i've seen in the last couple months, its a remake though, i still gotta see the original.

if you are looking for an old school horror flick Insidious and Sinister are worth checking out.

Insidious was the superior flick of the 2 but they both had their moments and gave me that old school Poltergist feel. Insidious was damn near a hommage film with some of its imagery and musical cues.

House of The Devil is good. It was made in 2009 but shot with a camera lens that makes everything look like a movie from the 80's. The guy even got all 80's cars for any scenes he shot in town. Pretty good tho
