Problem is niggas don't know what a classic is.

That's why you have niggas on the internet thinking cuz THEY don't like an album it ain't classic or vice versa.

An album being classic has nothing to do with you liking or disliking it. The whole album can be banging from top to bottom it still doesn't mean it's classic.

Now, i do disagree about Reasonable Doubt not being a classic. I get why you'd say that, but it still is due to it's impact, even though it came years later.

lol, what impact? Yall warriors be trippin

Classic in my opinion. But on a relate note, I'll say the same about Illmatic. NOT a classic to me. It's probably the only album I've ever heard that is lyrically flawless. But beyond that, doesn't hold up over time to me.

I think you had to have heard the album when it came out. Personally, I heard Illmatic when it was out but didn't hear Reasonable Doubt in its entirety until several years later. Illmatic was definately a game changer. I remember people talking about Reasonable Doubt when it was out but I didn't own a copy so I can't say.

Now, 15 years later, I'll say its a solid album but as far as a classic, I can't call it.

I'm not gonna debate with people who doesn't think its a classic, but ANYTHING that was released in 1996 and it is still debated and listened to in 2013 is classic worthy. As much as some cats don't want to hear it, the album has stood the test of time......17 years to be exact.

you need say no more......the only problem is you re argueing with guys that dont like Jay and will hardly give his work any kind of credit

amazing how folks will say something is not a classic and they were probably barely alive when the album dropped there are plenty of albums i dont rock with but when something is certified by the majority its is what it is. reasonable doubt is certified

IT DONT MOVE MY SOUL = NOT A CLASSIC. Niggas need to log off and study poetry and music theory... you call shit classics because youre told to. If it wasn't for the corruption of the Sauce this wouldn't be a comvo. That shit was a sham from the jump so therefore 9 out of 10 emcees repute propped up by that fugazi ass 5 mic system are like that invisible ensemble the emperor be rocking.

I damn near passed out when I saw this thread. RD is the best cd dude ever made, imo. Those who don't think it's a classic, I'd ask which jay CD was a classic?

Delusional disorder

- The patient expresses an idea or belief with unusual persistence or force.

- That idea appears to exert an undue influence on the patient's life, and the way of life is often altered to an inexplicable extent.

- Despite his/her profound conviction, there is often a quality of secretiveness or suspicion when the patient is questioned about it.

- The individual tends to be humorless and oversensitive, especially about the belief.

- There is a quality of centrality: no matter how unlikely it is that these strange things are happening to him, the patient accepts them relatively unquestioningly.

- An attempt to contradict the belief is likely to arouse an inappropriately strong emotional reaction, often with irritability and hostility.

- The belief is, at the least, unlikely, and out of keeping with the patient's social, cultural and religious background.

- The patient is emotionally over-invested in the idea and it overwhelms other elements of their psyche.

- The delusion, if acted out, often leads to behaviors which are abnormal and/or out of character, although perhaps understandable in the light of the delusional beliefs.

Welcome 2 the IC, lol, shiiit..
