Here's my 1st round

Well I'm going in.

First off let me say this album isnt whack but it's not a Hip Hop Classic IMO.

Maybe a regional classic but not no hip hop classic. What impact did this album have?

Who was influenced by this album? I've never heard anyone off the IC or any other Emcees praise this album. And if I'm not mistaken Master P bit this whole ICE Cream man style from Oakland Rapper YUKMOUTH.

Master P is known for biting certain rappers he basically tried to run off with Pac's style and make money of that. Then he took the whole ICE CREAM man idea from Yukmouth which actually sparked a beef between the two. Like I said this is a regional classic at best but no way this is a Hip Hop classic its impact wasnt strong and it has no replay value.

My 2nd.

Master P is known more for his "Hustle" than his music. Master P's ICE CREAM MAN is a regional classic at best and the reason he stayed relevant was because he joked Pac's style after he passed. I've listened to this album and it has no replay value it lacks or versatility and creativity. Master P's flow wasnt good and the lyrics were average at best he delivery sounded like he was talking. You said this album come out in 96?

Lets see the top 10 albums in 96.

AEOM

7DT

IWW

Muddy Waters

IRON MAN

ATLiens

Hell On Earth

The Score

Reasonable Doubt

Illadelph Halflife

ICE Cream Man cant be compared to any of these albums.

These albums I named either have More IMPACT/Replay Value/Classic Songs/and are more influential to Hip Hop than ICE Cream Man. ICE CREAM Man is a down south classic but when brought up against other albums for other regions it doesnt stand a chance.

I'm voting for @_Menace_

He had a strong argument with all the biting stuff and then listing all those albums in 1996 that were better. Complex Council could have used some openings like when Menace asked what impact it had.. Coulda said it started the No Limit movement that was a major force in the game in the late 90's and revolutionized the independent hustle. Complex also could have talked more about the music and he hurt his own argument with that Outkast shit.

I'm voting for Menace.. he hit the nail on the head when it comes to what made Master P so revered.. it wasn't the quality of his music, but his gift of hustling (and the quantity of music he was putting out)..

Also, I can name five more albums that's better than Ice Cream Man..

Stakes Is High - De La Soul..

Legal Drug Money - Lost Boyz..

Beats, Rhymes and Life - ATCQ..

Ridin' Dirty - UGK..

The Coming - Busta Rhymes..

I would have loved to hear the debater speak on how icm lead to the dominance of no limit which would ha e given the album more Merritt.. but I can't go off what should have been said.. menace

Im all into discussing things I dont know shit about, but If my view is already made before the debate, its makes it a lot harder, especially when your personal view is different( as was mine). But still a good challenge and fun. I didnt react no more because i still didnt understand about the rules of this debate. Next time I will. Anyway looks like Menace won. Made some good points. On to the next.
