His request for clemency was rejected. It's a sad case and a miscarriage of justice but he was "proven guilty". Even if the evidence is in Mr. Davis' favor he can't re-try a case that was already decided. Nothing short of a pardon could get him out this shit and i doubt an executive would do that for "cop killer" out of fear of lowering the morale of law enforcement. It's very political. The death penalty is an unnecessary hypocrisy that stains this country's already tainted morals. What's one more death on this country's hands?

And today, at the same time Davis is being executed, a white guy is also being executed for the murder of a black guy 13 years ago.

And the president of the United States of America is black.
