College game is nice, but it's only 4 years of your life. Unless you plan on marrying your college sweetheart, you will have to learn how to navigate the rest of the world. And of course, some of us are already out of college.
A big part of relationship woes is location. Sometimes you are just a weed, moving can make you a flower. Same way it works with job skills, etc. Location is supremely important.
As far as a compromise relationship, I would doubt it is satisfying, because you will know what you are doing is compromising on your lack of success finding "real love" or whatever they call it these days. I suggest, and practice, dating optimistically. You don't have to commit to every girl you meet, just sample them and keep looking. In my own situation, my main problem is that I met TOO many girls I would marry, so now I don't know what to do. You can quickly invert the OPs problem with some diligence.
