well tyler's back at it again, this time talking about that columbine incident:

http://www.hipsterrunoff.com/altrep...bine-school-shooters-has-he-gone-too-far.html

man this nigga here...................

another attentions whore like kanye and lil' b and so many others. why do rappers keep resorting to doing simple-minded shit like this? also i'm tired of people talking about columbine like it was the 1st school in history to have a tragedy like this. they're only giving it all that attention because it happened in white amerikkka. it happens in black and brown america all the time but gets dismissed as some nigger/wetback gang-related bullshit that nobody cares about. any school with this level of violence is a problem not just 1 particular school or schools.

Odd Future Start Record Label

Over the last six months, the conversation-starting rap rapscallions in Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All have seen their collective profile increase more and more, and now it's culminated in the group striking their own record deal.

Rap Radar reports and Odd Future's publicist confirms that Odd Future have partnered with RED Distribution/Sony to form their own label, Odd Future Records. The deal will cover all acts associated with the group and allow them the same level of creative freedom they work under now (which, considering some of the raw shit these kids say and do, is kind of integral to how they operate).

A statement sent to us by their publicist reads:

"Odd Future Sign Themselves.

"LA artist collective OFWGKTA continue down a non-traditional path creating their own recorded music label 'Odd Future Records'. Tyler, Hodgy, Leftbrain, Domo, Mike, Syd and crew will partner with Sony's RED Distribution arm to release music-based content consistent with their vision."

In a statement released to Rap Radar, OFWGKTA manager Chris Clancy said, "They will have 100% creative control of all aspects of their music, art, and release schedule with no 3rd party participation in outside business...RED and Sony know that it's in everyone's best interest to maintain the group's authenticity and control. They built it, they deserve it. There's no cheesy hooks or fluorescent liquor product placements in the works.. It's about to be fun.. and different..."

Great shit.. this is how you do it

The ink is dry. Earlier on Tuesday (April 26), it was reported that Odd Future were close to finalizing a deal with RED Distribution/Sony, and in an interview with MTV News the group's manager, Chris Clancy, has confirmed that the deal is officially done.

The newly created label's name? Odd Future Records — that is, unless Tyler and his bandmates haven't already changed their minds. "They have creative control, they can call it F--- Off Records by noon," Clancy said with a laugh.

"We kinda joke that they signed to themselves, but it's actually the truth," Clancy added. "The way it's working is Odd Future Records is an entity that will live on RED Distribution, which will be run and operated by Odd Future. That means in regards to releases, art, music, schedule, we're not bound to quarters and that type of stuff."

Under Red, Odd Future will operate as an independent even though they technically fall under Sony's major umbrella. When asked about the internal structure of the label, Clancy described it as a democracy of sorts.

"When it comes down to building this label within itself, it's going to be all of us sitting down and doing it and building a schedule. Full creative control, it's not just the creative control, it's the business control. It's both."

OFWGKTA member Earl Sweatshirt, who's spending time in a Samoan military school, according to Complex magazine, will most likely be part of the deal even if he wasn't physically present to sign the paperwork. "The best thing that I can say from my perspective is that Earl is family to them and anything that is Odd Future-related, obviously, in any way shape or form that can include Earl will include Earl," Clancy said.

Frank Ocean, Odd Future's alternative/R&B singer, however, is a different story. "Frank is on Def Jam," Clancy confirmed. "Frank is absolutely a part of Odd Future. Def Jam has been great about understanding that and we'll be working together."

Fans can expect OF frontman Tyler, the Creator's Goblin album to come out in May on XL Recordings as expected.

"Regardless of this label situation, there is nothing more important right now than the Goblin album," the manager assured MTV News. "XL has allowed us to be as independent as any label can allow us to be."

As for the first official release from Odd Future Records, the Wolf Gang's manager said we'll have to wait and see. "We'll know soon, that's a group decision and this is all kinda brand new," he said. "The next step will be to kinda figure that out and start laying the groundwork for a release schedule."

For OF to get a deal like this in 2011 is truly amazing! 100% creative control, and ownership of their masters! Haven't seen a deal like this since Master P with No Limit back in the 90's. Up and coming artist take notes. Always own your shit.

yeah, and we ALL KNOW how no limit turned out.

this is a good look but i hope they know what they signed and didn't get ripped off. i hate to see these young cats go out like suckas. now let's see if they can mature musically and stop rapping about bullshit like raping broads and stuff.

So is Frank on a joint Def Jam/Odd Future deal then? Or just someone who fucks with them until his Def Jam deal runs out?

Either way it's great for them, I guess Tyler doesn't need to sell out like he said he might haha

And holy cow, NME just got respect from me for the first time in ages haha

He will most likely be charged for a love crime.
