Not sure about the west coast but he ain't known here. He's my current favorite rapper but section 80 only did like 5000 first week. Not bad, but not great.

If damn near everybody on the West Coast is co-signing Kendrick as a leader of his generation, I think that says something about his impact thus far. He must not be just an internet sensation.

Lol that's like if everybody in harlem cosigning vado as the best out of harlem and you saying he's internationally known because of that. Ima just ingore the fact that I done already put about 10 hiphop heads onto kendrick where I live and before that they wouldn't have been able to pick him out of a lineup of shane sparks, caron butler, lavelle crawford, a local weed dealer, and kendrick himself. You win man, you right. Kendrick is super known and popular here, especially on the east coast. Matter fact him and dom kennedy are legends over here.

lol I'm not saying Kendrick is a superstar or A list celebrity... few rappers are. But as far as up and coming rappers go, Kendrick is doing pretty well in terms of popularity.

Cole, Buddens & Wale fans. these are mainstream rappers who have already made it signed to Roc Nation, Shady & MMG respectively. Kendrick Lamar has been pretty big already too. Immortal Technique would be my example of a internet sensation not yet known in real life but he hasn't come out with new material in forever. His content is too controversial for pop culture and he never caters toward sounding commercial at all

I agree, and you can put Kendrick Lamar in that light also. Maybe, the west coast knows about him but the average rap fan doesn't. It's a whole list of these characters. Joe Budden, J Cole, Lamar, Hopsin, are at the head of my list. Most random rap fans don't know anything about these dudes.

I just met my first Lil B fan in real life a couple weekends ago.

One of my boys was having a wedding celebration and his wife's lil brother from Cali was there hi-jacking the sound system to play Lil B songs. He even had his mom up there doing the cooking dance and singing along to Won Ton Soup.

I never met a Joe Buddens fan in real life or seen anybody post about him on Facebook.
