I agree with Shady/Aftermath comment, but at least they aren't doing gay ass autotune, and dressing like faggots with no nutsacks. Its a tough one but if you arent with the metrosexual rap era you will probably be thrown in that category. If a rapper did a country/western album that was complete poopoo would you say they shown a lot of growth?

I think Marshall prefers the nutsacks in his mouth.

^^^ The whole Aftermath crew are a bunch of faggots.

most growth = people who stopped doing hip hop.

Aint nothing wrong with doing the same shit, would you guys be upset if Detox sounded like 2001, or would you like it to sound like 808s and heartbreaks?

Lol at the pic of eminem. I wonder what this thread was really about?

Just about rappers who can demonstrate growth and maturity as they get get older.

When I think growth I also consider how they're flow and delivery has evolved.

With that I'd say Wayne has really evolved quite a bit.

Good Thread

I think Wayne went through both categories:

He ascended high from the Squad Up/Early Cash Money days and managed to released a damn near classic album: Carter 2.

I feel that the Pre-Carter 3 Wayne was the highest we'll ever see from him.

Wayne fell waaaaaaaaaaaay off when he sold amilie the first week.

I concur, though I thought he did his thing on the No Ceilings. Between that and the Ignorant Shyt joint on the Drake CD, they were good reminders that Wayne actually has talent.

T.I. definitely grew up some, btw. Same with Ludacris. I think the next CD is just gonna be a fun joint, though. Nothing too serious.

That's a fair point.

Obie Trice came as an eminem mini me, and changed for the second album. imo, the only reason of Obie goin platium on his first album were the collabs he did, lyrically his second album shits all over the first one.
went from shitty wannabe poppy songs like:

to makin decent songs, like:

Lupe.

Went from talking about sellin drugs to an entirely positive persona.

Pulled a complete 180, and the lyrics stayed intense.

It was a sequel, so it was supposed to be like the 1st. But Cod Outside, Have Mercy and Ason Jones weren't about crack, tho.

So? sequels arent supposed to be identical to the preqeul. rae had to try to recreate 1995 era because he couldnt find anything else to rap about.

Alot of cats flip flop...........They start out one way, try to grow into summin else, get hated on for it, then come back to what there known for...

Case and Point: Ludacris

Showed lots of growth on "Release Therapy" and "Theatre of The Mind"......Sales were dissapointing........Now he's doin "Battle Of The Sexxes"....

Julez Santana .

I think him growin up under Cam'ron and with Jay Z co-signing the diplomats, set him at a position to be great early. He dropped a pretty catchy album a way ago, and i always thought he'd run with the motivation.

I know the contract situation got in the way, but he was fuckin with the Pre-Carter 3 Wayne, on some mixtape shit..

I always thought Julez would raise up, (especially since he ran Wayne of most of they features, IMO) and make a name for himself.

He had a head start, but now he gotta worry about Lloyd Banks and Fab as far as the new generation King of New York race..

He need to drop somthing fast!
