Yeah here's the visual Prodigy ft B.G. 'YBE'
=youtube_gdata_player

He recycled the verse though but it was a freestyle over Biggie's "Dead Wrong" beat n Rap City The basement w The Hot Boy's which was ill also.

Top 5 BG verses ever

apparently being lyrical means something different to everyone

Yeah but not really. This thread is posted with rappers who are more lyrical than what they get credit 4. Not rappers who are underated lyrically. There is a difference.

The 'more-lyrical-than-what-they-get-credit-for ' rappers still may be correctly rated as mid- level lyracist or even low level lyracist , but they have a lot of examples in which they spitt ill shit and or spit meaningful shit.

And they get overlooked for some reason- like other rappers being a lil nicer, or alot more nicer than them, and get more shine, and/or because of their image "(ex. known more for flossing, radio songs , hood stripes etc.) they don't get that as much credit when it comes to being talked about by media, fans, or on the web.

With Hip Hop fans, it's rarely ever purely about skill. They buy more into the intangibles (persona, life story, money) more than the talent alone. A lot of fans of artist wouldn't be fans if they didn't buy into them as a person first. That's why an artist like Jay-Z could get overlooked as being a huge lyrical talent because his image could make you think he's the typical flashy rapper, and most people take things on a surface level. If Kendrick Lamar had an image like Big Sean but still had the same talent, he would probably get overlooked due to his image and what they perceive him to stand for. Perception is everything in Hip Hop....more than the actual talent.

Lil Boosie

ZRO

Ice Cube

Jim Jones

Young Jeezy

Styles P

Co-sign the bolded. Sucka niggas gon' hate on this because they have no reading comprehension skills. But niggas act like Jeezy never spit a dope bar in his life. Lowkey, the nigga got some cleaver ass lines and some good bars littered throughout his shit.

Is he a dope lyricist? No. Is he better than niggas give him credit for? Yes.

U have to look at it like this most the rappers who get the mot hate on the I.C. get the most love in the real world outside the I.C.

And a lotta the rappers that are like by posters on the I.C. get no love outside the I.C. or play

so glad you said that. this is a very underrated/over looked/under appreciated post right here. props!

so i'll say:

2Chainz - this nigga spits shit you could only find on the Sun but he only gets hate on the Internet

Boosie - he's only underrated on the Internet as far as I'm concerned

Webbie (early Webbie was a street poet straight from the heart. i gotta catch up to his new shit tho, i'll admit. havent heard it yet).

Missy Elliot - she nevers gets talked about. her song writing skills are on a level for a female ARTIST that's never really been reached before. Period

Fabolous - his only issue is his beat selection and his female cataloge. I'm not hip to those "Soul Tapes" right. but he lost Me before that becuz of all of that R&B music.

Ace Hood - shawty know how to spit

2Pac - never heard of his lyrics or lyrical ability ever being in question outside of 2 Internet sites (and this being 1 of the 2). Pac was a lyrical genius. How else do u think his music and legacy has lived this long and is continuing to strive. I dont know what world yall live in or what hype yall brought into. But Pac is known and loved for his Stripes, not for this renouned Poetry Writer/Philanthropist Afeni and them have been trying to make him into since his transition

Kendrick Lamar

Ludacris - this should be obvious

Rick Ross - he's a genius

over-rated:

Eminem - have u really listened to what tha fuck he be sayin sometimes?

Jay-Z - i like Jay but he should replace 2Pac's lyrical credibility that exists only on the Internet. His ability has always been overrated.

Big Boi - i hate when niggaz try 2 sound authentic and pull the "i like OutKast" card. I fucks with them both and I'm definitely waiting on that new album in 2014 but dude is overrated than a muthafucka. that song he did with Beyonce' is flames tho

/and so much more as far as underrated goes

With Eminem u say sometimes so u talking about his Slim Shady character style but u have to keep in mind that style of his Slim Shady alter ego was never meant to be deep or have lyrical content

His emotional and deep side is for that so he makes that style of deep music for those who like that and been through the same struggles or just people that like deep music in general, basically to get his pain of his chest and make songs that will help people get through what he been through

It's a 50/50 thing he always been loyal to both type of fans who like both styles that's why almost have his songs are deep and emotional while almost half his songs are deep and emotional

But the most important thing to remember is he actually has more deeper and emotional songs than any other mainstream rapper or any other rapper who sells succesfully. There is underground rappers like ZRO that have more deeper songs. But as far as mainstream rappers he has the most

Some good drops in here...Pastor Troy, Cam'ron, BG, etc. Styles P was the first one that popped in my head. After him, I'd say...E-40 maybe?
