i suppose i will set it off with one of my favs. it is no secret that malcolm x's writings have been a major influence to me. his views on black nationalism set the stage for the likes of the black panther party to emerge and kwame ture and charles v. hamilton's classic, black power. however, what i think is so crazy about malcolm were his views on minority politics in america. he asserted the idea that just because people of color are a minority in america, white people are a minority in the world. he saw beyond a national fight for civil rights and sought to internationalize the struggle for human rights.
