I am so tired of everyone blaming the "white man" for ALL of racism. If you guys paid attention to history you would know it wasn't just the white man who owned slaves. First off, African Americans that were slaves in early United States were ALREADY SLAVES in their own country. Sorry but the rich kings of Africa sold their own people to the white man....look it up. Second, it was called triangle trade between Europe Africa and America.

Funny though there seems to be a race of people left out of the whole slave trade. Aside from the African Kings who sold their own people away, the French, English and Spaniards.....how did everyone forget them. People from Spain were some of the most racist people, yet no one seems to remember them in the whole slave trade blame. If not for the Conquistadors of Spain, races such as Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Cubans, and Mexicans and yes even Filipinos wouldn't even exist. Why you think they have Hispanic last names? The Spanish also treated the Mexicans horrible. Slaves have been around in Africa the Roman Empire and dating all the way back to Biblical times. Slavery wasn't about race it was about conquering of nations...if you got conquered or were born into a slave family you were a slave.

As a Sicilian I should tell you I am fair skinned but I will not be pegged with every other "white person" as being the most racist. Sicilians were conquered by the Moors which were an AFRICAN tribe. They raped and pillaged my people. For this reason Sicilians are looked down on by Italians because we are not considered pure as we have Moor blood in us. Moors however were of Arabic decent not Black....again a misconception.

Racism is not passed due to color but rather by ignorance and failure to overcome ignorance and appreciate differences in cultures. I seen Mexicans that hate black people and Filipinos that hate Mexicans (Don't believe me check out the border) and whites that are attracted to blacks, Puerto Ricans marry native Americans and any other combination you can imagine. It is ignorant and bothersome when you focus racism on the generality of being mainly from one race. The white man or any other race is not solely to blame for racism, it's straight up ignorance....and that's the truth!
