The Industrial revolution was made possible by the incredible wealth generated by slavery. Do you want me to break out the list of individuals and companies that transferred and parlayed their slave earnings into industrial, retail and distribution enterprises? The whites who wanted to abolish slavery did so because they felt the south was holding them up and that mass amounts of whites were losing job opportunities because of the institution of slavery.

And actually, Many Islamic Nations are doing pretty well. They have almost none of the crushing debt that Europe and America have. Places like Iran, Libya, are debt free basically. While those who want to hook up with the west like Egypt, Morroco, and others are suffering. This is no doubt due to their refusal to make an industry out of credit and interest and exploitative Capitalist system . In fact many European Nations are now courting Islamic Banks because of the soundness and stability they bring.

And I just read an article on the emerging African tigers. They estimate that in a few years, many African Nations will replace places like Singapore and Taiwan as the emerging economies. Actually in truth, the West is basically finished as economic Superpowers.
