Good choice by the cop IMO and here's why:

1. Imagine if the cop got physical trying to arrest him. The cop would be crucified for having to roughly restrain a small child.
2. Getting sprayed allowed them to subdue the kid with the least amount of force needed.
3. People would be going bonkers if they tased him.
4. He said that shit stung bad...maybe that will be the slight deterrent he need next time.
