Why do people think Michael Jackson was such a respected and loved figure in the Black community? Because he did what no Black artist did before him (well maybe Stevie) and completely had the love and support and credit of fans off all races.

Music is entertainment & you seem to think its all about you and yours. I just don't follow all of your points and the resentment that comes front and center as if the poor innocent black man hasn't caused many, if not most of his own problems. Cultures progress and change with the times,yet you and yours never learn from the past but constantly dwell in the past. GET WITH IT - its the 21th century.

Hip Hop, Jazz, The Blues, RnB, Funk, Soul whatever else you want to throw in the pot were and often times the products of subculture before they became viable as mass entertainment.

It has been a long held belief that music and the overall aesthetic of "cool" is the definitive contribution Blacks have to the world. To just sum up Black music as entertainment and say we should get over it...yeah...a bit arrogant.
