In addition to the famine, Stalin ordered purges within the Soviet Union of any person deemed to be an enemy of the state. The Herero and Namaqua Genocide occurred in German South-West Africa (modern day Namibia) from 1904 until 1907, during the scramble for Africa. It is thought to be the first genocide of the 20th century.[1] On January 12, 1904, the Herero people under Samuel Maharero rose in rebellion against German colonial rule, in which German settlers were also killed. In August, German general Lothar von Trotha defeated the Herero in the Battle of Waterberg and drove them into the desert of Omaheke, where most of them died of thirst. In October, the Nama also took up arms against the Germans and were dealt with in a similar fashion. In total, between 24,000 and 65,000 Herero (estimated at 50% to 70% of the total Herero population) and 10,000 Nama (50% of the total Nama population) were killed. The genocide was characterized by widespread death by starvation and from consumption of well water which had been poisoned by the Germans in the Namib Desert.[2][3][4]

i would say a "harsh climate" would be a part of the Earth lacking 4 seasons where a hot summer climate dominates the year. there is a reason African and Middle Eastern/Mediterranean skin tones remain darker then people that descended from Northern cultures.. it's because the hot climate was HARSH and the body needed to develop a skin that would protect from sun damage. in a hot climate you can dehydrate much easier which is a really easy way to die.. with cold weather obviously you can always put on more covering or shelter to escape freezing to death.

Considering the Black man is the original man, those Hot sunny climates would actually be considered normal living conditions for Man. So they are not harsh at all. the Earth and it's climate were here long before man, even the very first Homo Sapiens evolved a certain way for specific reasons. if it's true as you claim that the climate in Africa is "not harsh at all" then why did mankind evolve a darker skin tone in the first place? basic evolution dictates that everything is for a reason more or less.. the fact that northern descendants lost their darker skin tone only explains that it was evolved that way since it wasn't needed to protect against a harsh sun. it wasn't about northern migrants adapting to a harsh climate as T/S tries to claim, having a light skin color doesn't make you more tolerant for cold weather. if that were true then the Native Americans that lived for a thousand years in the Arctic would be as white as Powder.
