I listen to local talk radio and sports talk on am. I stopped caring about what they played on the hiphop and r&b station 11 years ago.

it became unlistenable. every song was censored. rappers stopped making radio versions.

Because there are some really talented DJ's out there... and not just on sattelite either. I can't speak for other cities, but Chicago still has real DJ's that mix, scratch, flip, blend, etc.

Cause sometimes it just feels good to listen to a radio station that you like, if you have a good radio station in your area. Catch a good mix show, or hear the new shit that everybody else is requestin, not just playin the same songs that I chose over and over and over and over, and bein in a constant search for new shit to break up the boredom. There's also this thing called other genres of music. I may not download a lot of country/rock/gospel/latino/reggae, but I'll listen to it on the radio while I'm ridin...

respectable answers. though i prefer to choose my music 99% of the time

which goes to show that you've never listened to NPR.

The musical interludes between segments span jazz, to classical, to hip hop, techno, you name it. My local NPR station put me on to a shitload of music just be being a regular listener to Marketplace and All Things Considered. If you go to NPR's website, they'll list the musical interludes by artist name, song, album and where you can buy the album.

npr playing hip hop is news to me

I like the radio in the morning on the way to work

Tell you the truth I listen to the old school r&b stations more than the rap stations

TRAP BEATS, Like I said I been studying the art form.

how do you feel about the genre? is it killing hip hop, is it keeping it alive,

I know it's hurting us as Black people but how do you feel.

i want to take the beats and flip the style.

I might sell a beat and the first thing the artist do is go for the trap,

like............wtf, ya'll remember "just me myself and I"

or A.T.C.Q. you know what that stand for? de la soul type music is gone.

and im from columbus and we had 105 murders last year, we never get that high, last summer it was a shooting every night for 2 weeks or so. can't blame the music, or can I?
