Jay Z is prolly the richest rapper ever, that's why a lotta peeps put him on an imaginary pedestal.

And that's all he raps about 95% of the time.

I co-sign Pac being comparable to the Jordan of HipHop.

What was MJ bad at?

Comparing Basketball players to Rappers is played out like sayin "He'll take 6 in the chest like such and such jersey".... There's no reasonable way to compare Sports to Music.... U just cant do it....

the rap game is just like sports. very competitive. ice cube's career directly correlates with mj's. jay z to a lessor extent.

there are always power struggles in rap. that's why there is tension between nicki and kim now. it's nothing new and no rapper likes to lose their spot.

cube was talking about knocking off hammer back in the early 90's, and when it was done, he was top dog until snoop, BIG, & Pac took it in the successive years.

But u cant compare personal sports Stats to record sales.... U know why? Because record sales have to do with OTHER pp,l stats have to do with the personal player.... Basketball players dont take credit for how many tickets to the game was sold. Also u can say "Classic Albums" but music is an opinion... MJ average points a game is not... Thats why i said its retarded to compare it... Because there's no logical way to do so.....

the 76ers ownership always gave credit to AI for their high ticket sales. and in rap, sales are used as a testament to the relevance of the artist. even though the sales era is mostly gone save for a few, we still have that late 80's to mid 00's to judge who was relevant when.

Pac's popularity and charisma>>>>Jay's

I can understand people not liking Pac as a rapper, but damn, ya'll try to deny facts.

What facts? Pac is only popular now because he is dead

Explain this please? Ice Cube is definately top 5 dead or Alive but theyre a couple of emcees who are more influential than him. I jus dont see Cube's influence in upcomin rappers. They all talk bout Pac,Ra,Nas or Jay...

even though pac has the sales, most of that was done in death, which cannot be compared to an athlete.

when Jordan had the choker chain, short shorts and young legs? cube had the gheri curl, reality rap & NWA

when Jordan rose up & went on his first 3 peat? Cube had AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted, Kill at Will, Death Certificate, The Predator & Lethal Injection

when Jordan was retired for baseball? Cube focused on side interests with da Lynch Mob & Bootlegs & B-Sides

when Jordan came back 2 more times? Cube had West Side Connection & The War and Peace Disc.

even after MJ retired. Cube hit em up again with Laugh Now, Cry Later of 2006 & from 1995-2010, Cube has built his brand just like MJ.

I never understood the "jay only blew up because pac and big died" logic
if that were true, his 97 album shoulda done a lot better. I'm not saying he didn't benefit from
their deaths.hell who didn't? but that's not the ONLY reason why he blew up

some of y'all try to hard when it comes to discrediting these rappers

i don't think people who put jay-z high pedstal cause he's rich. its always been the music

Not when he's compared to say, his biggest rival in the game: Nas.

What they call Gangster Rap was pioneered by Ice Cube. His influence is just as big as Rakim's, G Rap's, Pac's, BIG's and Jay's.

He's also the dominant figure for West Coast political rap just like Chuck D on the East.

& Genstasia.

I guess we just have to agree to disagree.

Word Dilla! I read an interview of Slim Thug where he wuz statin his top 5 emcees. I think he had Jay as GOAT and the main reason he gave wuz that he a successful businessman and he bagged beyonce. Smh!!!

Cosign but Gangsta rap wuz started by Krs-One and BDP then Cube and NWA took it to the next level.....But Cube is an Iconic figure in Hiphop. No doubt
