but what your saying isnt fact. thats YOUR PERSONAL interpretation of what the bible means to you. so its null and void. no where in the bible does it teach you or tell you to "spiritually" interpret it. the fact is ... not everything in the bible can be explained properly because of it being tampered with. people adding and removing scriptures, MEN deciding what should stay and what should be tossed out. any christian scholar will tell you this. this is why faith has become a top priority for religous followers. the bible cant be placed in a catagorey like its some work of art where your meant to get some personal meaning out of it. that is a man made concept to comfort the fact that they have no proof to fully understand what they believe in. sin is sin, good is good, and god NEVER changes. its people that change not god. believing otherwise is a sin in its own self

bottom line is you cant go out of bounds and make things up just because you dont have an answer. christianity would be a much stronger religion if they would stay away from the nonsense and just tell the truth. you cant say god loves everyone equally and then turn around and say god gives each person their own understanding. no .... whats a sin for you is a sin for the next man because god loves you equally. furthurmore, whose to say that god didnt give atheists their own interpretation that would be best for them??

This thing is not personal for me, and you really didnt catch what I was conveying.... there is only one interpretation of scripture.. ONLY ONE.. and many applications and it is YOUR job to first understand the CORRECT INTERPRETATION FIRST, before you start trying to apply it... one of the primary reasons the Bible doesn't makes sense to the American Culture is because it was written from the perspective of Hebrews, and Jewish cultures... and you are failed to even attempt to touch the book without studying the historical context as well as several other cultural importances of the Jews

and I dont speak off fluff or my opinion.. I always have a scripture to reference... problem is few people follow this standard...

2Pe 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
2Pe 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the HolyGhost.

the definition used for prophecy here = : the inspired declaration of divine will and purpose

With the understanding of this scripture if what God wanted written came from Holy(Keyword Holy) Men who were able to communicate with the Holy Spirit of God(communication with the Holy Ghost is a direct result of your advancement in spirituality), then the reverse of this also must be true that one must communicate with the same author Spirit to gain the correct interpretation or understanding of what the spirit was trying to communicate... if all this is flying over your head its because you have not been enlighten to spirituality.....

To make another correction about about what the Bible does or does not say

Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

How do you connect to something that is a spirit.... spiritually.... there is no other way....

Everything in the Bible can be explained properly if you understand how to research and study the word... its not an American or a book written in English .. it belongs to the Jews.. and one needs to gain a Jewish perspective to get a realistic understanding of the Word, and it yet again doesn't matter about all of the various non-sense that happened with the word... if you understand how to properly read and research

Jesus didn't come to start Christianity... man started that... Jesus understood that religion choked out the real power of God.... the rest of your statement reflects religion... and I dont care for religion either.. so we have a common ground...

Understand that you problem with God is more-so because of close-mindedness, lack of someone teaching you how to properly read scripture, and then lack of studying.....

I always find it amusing when those who are obsessed with a religion claim that non-believers are close-minded; when in fact, it's usually those that are subscribed to a particular religion that have closed their mind to all other possibilities and don't see the illogicalness of what they are claiming, as they so easily denounce others. It reminds me of the quote:

“I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.” - Stephen Roberts

As much as I feel that there is a lack of understanding, it is also a lack of trust; a lack of faith. Someone might understand that there is a bridge, but if they are not going to trust that the bridge will hold them, they won't cross it. For some people, God can't be trusted. There is no reason to think that God has any power at all for some. There is no sense of living in fear of a God that isn't going to do anything for some. And so far, atheists have every right, even if wrong, to make their claims. However, there are those who trust in God; who at least give God reverence; that maybe God is who He says He is and be faithful that God's Words will hold.

understand to question the bible or any other religious writings is NOT questioning God! It's questioning MAN!
If I tell you that God inspired or told me directly to post this you most likely would not believe, you might even quote scripture telling why God wouldn't talk to me. But i reality you can't prove if I'm being truthful of not, and you would be doubting me, not God.

There is nothing wrong with having questions about the Bible. It is the motives behind the questioning that are more suspect. Sometimes we ask questions not as a sincere gesture to know, but to see if we can test the angles; to see if we can get the powers that be questioning even their own authority about what they hold to. You question man because man doesn't have an authority worthy of being God, but what if God is using man to tell you about His Authority?

Jesus said in effect to his disciples that if the world hates you, they hated him first. Sure, it sounds like something that Christians psyche themselves out with to feel good about being insulted, but what if it is true? What if despite man's failed attempts at "being holy", that God is all that the Bible says it to be? This almost has the making of court cases where there is a witness to something and it guarantees a sure verdict, but the witness is known as a habitual liar or something so that person's testimony is thrown out.

The interesting part in all this, is that the only "thing" man won't let change is God......

We'll take our man made religious writings and insist it is God in a nutshell. I'm sure that's quite limiting and disruptive of God, considering He's an omnipotent being.

I'm glad your questioning the teachings of religion, regardless of which religion that is, because it means you're open to accept what you don't yet know.

Oh, and you're still going to hell for that youtube video of Drop it low girl.....

she cold with it

Great post. It's amazing to see people with no spiritual understanding, because of their unregenerate state, blaspheme God and His word by saying there are contradictions and errors. It gets laughable at times to hear that non-sense. Your post sums it up very good. In order to understand the word, you must be born again. Jesus said that it's the Holy Spirit that teaches us all things, "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." (John 14:26) Without the Holy Spirit as your teacher you can never understand the deep things of God.

I also agree with understanding the context for the scriptures, namely the Jewish audience that the majority of the Bible was written for. It's a universal book that touches the hearts of all of mankind regardless of nationality. But like Demandred said, in order to fully understand the word of God, you must understand the Jewish people and their history. Once a person grasps that aspect, a framework can be built for understanding what God is communicating to all of his creatures in this great, sacred, and holy book.

^^^If in fact A God is using man, and it is a fact that man is not perfect. What should I do when man fails to interpret God correctly, and God chooses not to correct him? People today follow empty traditions and don't really know why they follow them. Then look down on those who disagree.

Take marriage for example.

Where in the bible does it explain how to have a wedding? Where does it say exchange vows in front of a priest, minister or a judge? Where did the wedding ring come in at?

Now if you are just living with your s/o, religous folks accuse you of living in sin. How so? Because man made some extra shit up that they felt other men left out. Or do they/you think God forgot to include the proper steps of marriage?

Having a correct understanding doesn't free you from sin. I can be telling you everything that is correct about the Bible and live a morally good life, but it doesn't mean that I'm without sin. Sin is not just transgression, it's a condition that God sees in us. You can be bad and be a sinner and you can be good and still be a sinner.

What up dude. So anyway, have you decided not to follow anymore due to the different religion/beliefs? If I can remember, you were trying to read the Torah, Quran and the bible? King James? So from that, is that what made you change your ways? The whole contradictions and stuff?

^^^^^who Is to say that someone is a "holy man"? Who's to say that if someone doesn't connect with the bible, yet feel he has gained spiritual enlightment, he has not? Does god only work one way? What about other religions that come from the same area as the bible? Every qoute from the bible is hearsay, because those that allegedly said didn't write it down. Is this not truth or did I make this up?

Did God stop inspiring people? Did he stop talking to people? Does god tell everyone the samething?

You can claim that the bible is the word of god.

But the world and happens in it, is the ACTION of god.

And a lot of the time his action contradicts his word.

Does it not?

According to the Bible, no one is righteous; no one is without sin. Now it is possible to live a morally good life and feel "enlightened", but it doesn't nullify sin. Sin still needs to be dealt with and the only who is said to have done it is Jesus. I can't earn God's favor, but I trust that Jesus has earned it for me.

How did Jesus deal with it, when the possibilities of going to hell still exist (if that's what you believe)? Did he die for peoples sins for just those 3 days he was supposedly dead? was he the temporary savior?

Jesus lived the life we couldn't live (a life without sin) and died the death we should have died (for sin). A sacrifice was made for sin and for those who believe that Jesus did do this can have Eternal Life. Our deaths could not atone for sin for it is not a perfect sacrifice.

Sin isn't just about transgression. It is a condition that God sees mankind as having. You don't have to be immoral to be a sinner. You can have good morals, but it can't remedy the condition that sin puts us in.
